the prophet's shadow....

taking this from akhbar-e-jahaan’s section of ‘kitab-o-sunnat ki roshni me’…

Q: Did the Prophet (saw) have a shadow or not?
A: Ahadith tell us that a cloud always covered the Prophet (saw), hence the question of his having a shadow or not does not arise.

talk of useless Q&A…

he better have some evidence to suggest that, and sahih hadiths only, daef hadiths wont do...

Perhaps word shadow means following.

may be i misunderstood you, but following u mean as in followers following? if so , then mohammad :saw: has the largest number of followers in the true sense as in practicing muslims are so high in number wiht respect to practicing members of other religionis that there is no comparison.

Yea.. I meant that a shadow means followers.

no shadow is the dark reflection cast on any other media in the direction opposite to the light rays due to the light rays being obstructed....

I have heard of this before too. No clue how authentic it is.

Assalam O Alaikum,

We shouldn't look any further than Holy Quran for this. Please read Surah Al-Furqan verse 8:
And they say, 'What sort of Messenger is this that he eats food, and walks in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to him that he might be a warner with him?
This verse clearly shows that Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was as human as another human being and not an angel. Thus if a normal human can have a shadow why not the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).

:jazak: I salute you Fateahmad,if more of you are there in this world
the chances are we might get rid of this menace of USELESS narations and misleading concepts which are SO IRRELEVENT to ibad and our daily duty towards Allah swt.
Don’t look beyond Quraan and the Last sermon of Prophet Mohammad :saw:
rest is irrelevent , and not prompted by Allah.

ok dont be an extremist and deny the authentic ahadiths that tell us how to live our day to day lives,

i’ve heard from depressed people that they feel a cloud hanging over their heads too…:konfused: they don’t have a shadow either???

what BS is this??? suppose there is a cloud. What about a candle lit from the side? clearly the cloud won’t make elastic turns to cover that as well.

I am glad u said that Mr. Raindance, because Mr. fatehahmad is Ahmadi.

Dear armughal,

In my logic... and of course I am no scholar.

" cloud hanging over the prophet suggests a following"

Is my answer because my logic made me wonder why a cloud would hang over one concidered a Holy Prophet?

Made me wonder what purpose did a cloud serve always covering the Prophet?

If no purpose? Why mention?

Thus my thinking...

Shadow allegorical word for following or followers.

I speculate as I am not familiar with Qu'ran or ha'dith.

Pretty much I blather..

I do read what others post hoping to gain understanding and learn.

(Unless string of many really long....news articles)

Like to read opinions of posters.

how could you say prophet had no followers? there are a billion people willing to die for that man and you say he has no followers?

Why is this issue worth even debating ? Why do we concentrate so much on trivia ?

ThandyMazaq,

You misunderstood my comment.

Websters Dictionary defines allegorical:

having hidden spiritual meaning that transcends the literal sense of a sacred text

What I meant was "cloud" or "shadow" maybe allegorical for follow/following. My thinking was that those words are conveying that the prophet had followers.

Also comes to me that perhaps allegorical for spirit/spiritual.
