A desi groom might be able to pull this off and make it funny for the audience....more power to him. But a desi bride making such an entry would be scandalous, lol.
A friend of mine once told me that she had seen a bride....who wasn't acting as "sharmeeli" as she should have been....rather she was very eager to see the groom. So she hitched up her lehnga and went running ding ding ding down the stairs to meet him....much to the outrage of the guests. LOL.
