The pregnancy myth

I thnk most of you have heard that whatever you look at during your pregnancy, your child ends up exhibiting those traits…(not sure if this is a desi or western thing)…those who were pregnant, do you think that’s true?

A friend of mine said she watched Monsters Inc and everrrryone says her daughter looks like Boo (and she totally does!)…I know a few other examples from my in laws as well..could it be a huge coincidence or is there some truth to it?

Re: The pregnancy myth

i dont believe in this i watched indian films star plus dramas had lot of long drives but my baby is not ready 2 watch anything on tv except baby tv n she hates long drive she can sit in car for only 20 mins n then she starts crying

Re: The pregnancy myth

:D God I hope it isn't true.....I went through season 1 of the walking dead near the end of my pregnancy...

Re: The pregnancy myth

Haha I had to stop watching it because it gave me anxiety :p

Re: The pregnancy myth

I don't about know that.

But it's good to have happy thoughts and have low amounts of stress during pregnancy.

Re: The pregnancy myth

So is he going to end up being a horror movie freak ..lol because I have lately watched so many horror films :hehe:

Re: The pregnancy myth

I have heard that before as well. Once my cousin said she looks at pictures of good looking people so that her child will be good looking - LOL! Another one that I heard, which people have given me examples of, is when a women does something to her body during a solar eclipse (and she is pregnant) that thing will happen to her baby - confusing, I know! Let me explain:

My popoh was pregnant during a solar eclipse. She stood on the roof of the house in front of the eclipse and placed her thumb pad on the back of her right shoulder. When my cousin was born, he had a birth mark shaped like a thumb pad (fingerprint) on the back of his right shoulder. This is actually true!

Another one I heard, but kind of doubtful about was a women in our village was pregnant during a solar eclipse and fell asleep outside. She and her husband both apparently were very fair. When her child was born, the child was very dark.

Re: The pregnancy myth

we had this discussion with my fiancé once and he told me about a woman who loved watching Planet of the Apes during her pregnancy and her baby looked like a monkey, i doubt that was true

Re: The pregnancy myth

LOL^

Re: The pregnancy myth

Okay, you know what I heard the other day?

If your baby’s hair grows in circles from the back versus, straight down…you’re going to have a baby girl next.

:konfused:

Re: The pregnancy myth

And if you're tired and exhausted during your pregnancy, you're having a girl and she's sucking the beauty from you.

Re: The pregnancy myth

^ that's what my mum used to say when SIL was pregnant, turned out to be a boy lol

Re: The pregnancy myth

I have heard that one too!!

My mum always said to me to make sure im not using a knife or scissors during a solar eclipse otherwise t
hey say that the child will be born with a cut on the ear?? :hmmm:

Dont know how true it is … my mum was born with a cut on her ear though

Re: The pregnancy myth

i heard the opposite. if you're glowing, its a girl because her beauty is shining through. i like that one better haha poor baby girls! so vilified even before birth!

Re: The pregnancy myth

During my pragnancy my mom was after me to put up a picture of a cute babies so i have a look a like. I was like mom...i m not going to have a white kid just by looking at them :) my son looks just like his dad.

Re: The pregnancy myth

Re: The pregnancy myth

I have found this quite accurate. Look at Ashwariya Rai.

Re: The pregnancy myth
