The Prayer of Moses (peace be upon him)

Salaam Alaykum,

Does anyone know the prayer that the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) prayed to Allah to make his stuttering go away so that he can speak eloquently in Pharaohs court?

Surah Taahaa 25 - 35

(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 20:25
"Ease my task for me; 20:26
"And remove the impediment from my speech, 20:27
"So they may understand what I say: 20:28
"And give me a Minister from my family, 20:29
"Aaron, my brother; 20:30
"Add to my strength through him, 20:31
"And make him share my task: 20:32
"That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 20:33
"And remember Thee without stint: 20:34
"For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us: 20:35."

(Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 20:36

Jazakallah Khair bro :k:

Very interesting, Ibn Sadique.

Could this quote from the Quran also be interpreted that God (Allah) did not necessary improve Moses' stuttering but rather granted his wish for Aaron to minister/speak for him?

I ask this because according to the Torah, God let Aaron speak on behalf of Moses because of his speach impediment.

(Just trying to see if the two accounts could not actually reflect the same outcome. I refer to Ex.4v16 He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth...)

*The Old Man - * Historically we know that Prophet Moses (Peace be upon him) did stammer.

He specifically prayed and had asked Allah (swt) for:

1) "O my Lord! Expand me my breast”
2) "Ease my task for me”
3) "And remove the impediment from my speech”
4) "So they may understand what I say”
5) "And give me a Minister from my family”
6) “Aaron, my brother”
7) "Add to my strength through him”
8) “And make him share my task”

Since the reply was:

"Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!"

I will safely presume that since all his prayers were answered without any exception; Prophet Moses (Peace be upon him) spoke with the Pharaoh himself.

Also we can see that Prophet Moses (Peace be upon him) had prayed for "So they may understand what I say” ; as his prayers were granted, clearly implies that he did speak with the Pharaoh himself.

Dhulfiqar - You are welcome.
