Re: The power of Healing?
Thanks for your input submissionToPeace. All that you mentioned below are good and healthy practices but not necessarily means of curing a disease. I guess I find myself blank in explaining how spirit healing can be possible in other religions but in Islam - that is if it’s true. What possible explanation can there be in the light of Islam for instances of spiritual miracles in other religions in today’s world?

Though I haven’t heard of any specific way of treating the diseases you mentioned, but I do know that there were minor acts and habbits that used to contribute alot in protecting/ treating alot of diseases, some of which science also proves today. BUT most of them were not followed with an intention of treating a “specific” disease but for he obedience of the Prophet (saw), which automatically served as treatment. Like a priest accepting ISlam after seeing that his poison didn’t effect Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (r.a) might be due to one of the following reasons.
Faith healing: is something science says is totally related to your faith in something. If you have a “very strong” faith in “anything” which you do, it might help you the way you want it to help you, if it is something good e.g. for a muslim practicing namaz, doing any wazeefa…etc.
A Hadith says " If you want to have more Rizq and a long life, than be good with your relatives"
In the present age the scientific proof of it is here:

To practice the ways of the Prophet (Saw) helps alot. Like leaving meal when a “bit” of hunger is left. To drink water in the beginning of the meal and not in the end. to lick the tip of one’s finger after finishing meal, to recite the duas the Prophet (saw) usually recited in daily life, to follow other sunnahs like miswak…etc.
As Tariq brother said if you have “complelte” believe in the “Shifa” to be from Allah, and if you make all your level best efforts on the “basis” of this belief, than Allah would make available sources which would cause cure of your problem/disease (insha’Allah) one way or the other.
