Dua, wazeefa, sadaqa, Namaz-e-hajat, even Taweez. These are all spritual and well accepted means of getting rid of Takaaleef and Masaa'eb (including diseases) in Islam. Most (maybe all) Ulemas have agreement on it that they work (if Allah wants them to work).
But in conjucntion to that, Islam also belives that if a worldy cure and prevention methods are also availaibe, they should also be applied.
Curing medical diseases purely through spritual means, although known causes, symptoms and cure has been identified by medical science?? I dont know if it exist in its pure form.
I know of cases, though, where doctors said that you have few months to live and the patient lived for years cause of their spritual belief that only Allah/God can decide our fate and not doctors.
