Under Zardari I had long believed that PPP will die, at least as a political force. It can be now be clearly seen that he has turned PPP into a mafia, where you don’t dare say anything against PPP (mainly Zardari and Talpur). You can check out the tone of Talpur in many ‘campaigns’, she goes out like “kaan khol ke sun lo, vote sirf PPP ka”.

Bhutto himself was the original Don of PPP though he had the charisma of a real leader that obviously neither Zardari nor benazir ever had.
Do you think that BB would have succeeded if she wasn’t the daughter of Zulfiqar with a bhutto surname? There are more capable women in Pakistani politics who have gotten nowhere because they didn’t have a famous surname.
He was Don, but I think he was a ‘politician’ who had ‘Don’ as a ‘side-kick’ in him. In case of Zardari it seems to be opposite, he is Don as main character and ‘politician’ is his inner-side-kick. Look at his sister how she is dominating the party and logistics of Sindh.
It looks like it is a pressure tactic though I hope that Zardari and Co. are permanently sidelined in Pakistan. The only problem is that PPP has been made a londi to the bhuttos otherwise the party could survive the purge.
I don’t know how PTI could win in Karachi/hyderabad and rural sindh as rural sindhis aren’t for local govt in Karachi.
You are right, for some reason I thought she was already engaged when Bhutto was alive. It then appears Bhutto family has history of making big blunders. You can hear Zardari saying “jiye Bhutto” in his speeches.
ppp have a very good reason to fool liberal and moderate people that is they believe in socialist secular governance. it is far easier to accept party with such manifesto despit being corrupt to the core. but a party like PTI that is soft apparently on taliban is not acceptable despite being least corrupt and have shown something in kpk.

There are are some poops of descendants of yet bigger poops who think they can raise their height by sh!tt!ng here against ZAB and immediately jump on band wagon of poops and garbage, they never saw ZAB and his tenure of government.
I think that the political cell was activated and very much used against the opposition by Bhutto just like the process of “islamization” that later came to bite us in the ass.

and you are right too, in sort of haste I forgot the date-lines and facts that Benazir was not engaged at time of ZAB’s hanging as well as it was the ‘political-cell’ that was created by ZAB and not the whole ISI. Thanks for the correction.
However, what we can’t ignore the mafia-nature of PPP leadership esp the Zardari-clan. PPP was set of feudal lords, if that was not alone now it has mafia-dons like Zardari.
