The Plop

Sounds kinda weird right?

So its a method I came across while trying to understand my hair. My hair has been my life for as long as I can remember. No one knew how to tame it so in the end I just straightened it. I straightened it so much no one knew I even had curly hair. My hair got thin and brittle so I stopped. :frowning:
Fighting it doesn’t work. In the end, you have to learn to live with it…:cb:

So plopping is for people who want good curl formation…this helps create a better curl instead of a frizzy curl.

You need to condition and coat your hair with a good curl cream before this:

Re: The Plop

you know why no one has answered in this thread yet? its because plop means something very different, not what we want to associate with your head..

Re: The Plop

It was for informational purposes...not to discuss really!

And what on earth does it mean aside from what I said?

Re: The Plop

When my mum first arrived in Britain, my oldest brother was only a few months old, one time he must have had really bad diarrhea. So my mum decided to take him to the doctors; My mum who never knew English at the time took along one of my uncles. His English wasn't tht good either all he could communicate to the doctor was "baby too much plop plop". lol. true story that.

Re: The Plop

^Looolll probably still be described like that today!

Re: The Plop

now u got me wondering which uncle that is :hmmm:

Re: The Plop

Lips sealed! haha. Xxxxx

Re: The Plop

:omg:

Re: The Plop

I think we have to rename the method I use to dry my hair.

Now, I can't think of anything else!

Re: The Plop

I tried the “plop” method but I noticed it didn’t accentuate my curl pattern. Here is what did: Quidad humidity control gel.

It is the best thing I have ever tried. It’s created by this Lebanese hairdresser who runs a famous chain of salons in NY just for curly hair. This stuff is amazing. It looks like gel but is a lot more runny and isn’t sticky one bit. Just use a leave-in conditioner and then apply the gel. Rake it through your hair using your fingers and hold hair at the ends and “shake” it. It sets perfect and like your natural curl pattern. It’s the “rake & shake” method.

Re: The Plop

I was looking at Ouidad but didn’t go for it because the associate I was speaking to said she didn’t know much about the product.

I like the plop method because it clumps my curls rather than separating them into frizz. Its super easy…put the towel on and leave it while you do other things like makeup, iron clothes, etc.

Re: The Plop

WHy dont you try the plop method but use the Quidad gel (it’s their most popular and bestselling product) as the product? I have never had my hair get so defined yet not crunchy at the same time. Here is a picture (keep in mind, my hair is pretty long. Comes below my waist and this picture makes it look shorter due to the angle but my curl pattern looks like this) :

Re: The Plop

^ I think I might try that now that you mention it. I think I’ll do it this weekend and post pictures.

Thank you M! :hugz:

Re: The Plop

so does this thing bring out curls from otherwise wavy hair? My hair isn't straight but isn't curly or even wavy...it just looks "messy" :( When I don't blow dry it....in fact I blow dry it and then wear it up in a bun to make it more wavy....will it enhance the curl factor?

Re: The Plop

Def. post a picture, Reha!

And Sara, unfortunately it doesn't have curl activating properties but there are some products that can do that for you if you have wavy hair. Just google "Curl Activator" and a ton of products will pop up.

Re: The Plop

What it does is actually help create a more defined curl versus a frizzy one. When curls clump up together...they look neater and prettier. When they separate, it turns into a frizzy mess.
