The pitch also looked good and grassy before the last Multan test.
India went on to score 600+ runs against Shoaib, Sami, Shabbir, Saqlain, Razzaq and co.

Well if you have followed previous home matches than you must have noticed that whenever they talk about grass on the pitch, usually they end up removing it before the start.

I blv its usually a tussle between the groundsmen (curator) and the team players.

^ Yes plus there are some tactics or mind games which are often played by the host for the visiting team. Obviously Pakistan would be knowing that what bowling combination they will be using for the match. If they are going to rely heavily on spinners and and their batting, than don't expect a grass cover.
