I feel like cooking the turkey this year, but, having looked at the recipe, I’ve decided the traditional recipe is way too bland. I wanna tikka masalafy my turkey, but still wanna go through the fun process of stuffing it.
So:
A) Have any of you guys cooked traditional turkey before? Was it really bland? How did you cook it?
B) How can I masalafy my turkey to make it less bland
C) What stuffing would suit it best? Would normal bread stuffing be ok? How can I spice up this bread stuffing?
Use chargha masala..
but turkey isnt meant to cooked that way.
I usually make my own stuffing because the regular stuff usually has something haram in it.
let me know if you want that,
I dont know where you live but there is a Spanish Marinade in the USA called MOJO. Nothing haram in it :)
I usually soak the turkey in that all night and just pop it in the oven the next day. Cook more then half of it covered then when its a lil brown take off the cover and cook completely. keep Basting so that it doesnt get dry.
Since you want it spicey just add some mirach to the Mojo.
Have you considered some of the alreaddy made masalas (ie Shaan)
Here is my mom recipe:
yogurt, mix with garlic, ginger, lemon, salt, pepper, red mirach to taste and a pinch of any kind oil---mix in bowl.
Thanx Muniya. It's christmas eve and all the shops will be closing in the next 30 mins so I won't be able to ask after MOJO. Will use ur mum's recipe - sounds desi enough to me!
