in yesterday’s tragic events. Who were they? Why has there been no mention about these innocent people?
Re: The other 30 people killed...
True, no one ever counts the number of civilians killed. 150+ in Karachi, were a mere footnote. No one will argue endlessly of how they died, through guns, shrapnel, force of blast etc. They just died on their own, silently and quietly, bodies shattered and forgotten.
Re: The other 30 people killed...
It's always the poor that have to suffer. Why are they having to pay the price of Benazair's death with the closure of the shops and medical stores, burning down of the public transport and of their homes? Is it their fault that she was killed?
Re: The other 30 people killed...
The lives of these 30 people was just as precious as Benazir's, and they are martyrs too.
Re: The other 30 people killed...
And the others murdered in May by MQM/Musharraf as well. Martyrs too.
Re: The other 30 people killed...
The other 30 people were loose change, seems like.
It is the same everywhere in South Asia. The lives of ordinary people is not news-worthy.
Re: The other 30 people killed...
Pakistan mein jo merta hai woh shaheed hi hota hai lekin kon shaheed hai aur kon nahin yeh to Qayamat mein hi pata lagay ga
Re: The other 30 people killed...
^ true.
Re: The other 30 people killed...
The villagers who die in NWFP and FATA are martyrs as well.
Re: The other 30 people killed...
A very dark day in the history of Pakistan. Local/international media, news channels, questions being asked by journalists, there is absolutely no focus on something worth considering and dedicating a few moments to. The moral fiber of this country is split in two. The assassination is portrayed as the be-all and end-all of all political talks running round-the-clock. Half a dozen replies and the thread disappears into open space to a point of no return.
Is there anything, anything at all? Updates, news, anything on those 30 people from that day? Cannot believe this piece of news is thoroughly downplayed in every part of the world, especially ours, which is downright disgusting. Not a single mention, not one mention. GEO showed a clip yesterday of Bhutto's shaheed bodyguard who left behind 5 unmarried daughters and a beautiful wife. Could not believe my eyes when his wife came on the screen, she could not hold her tears back.
The allocation of worthless 3 lakhs to the families of deceased, some mighty fine planning. Mighty fine. Why even bother, I mean why donate for the sake of donating and improving your image which is already cut in pieces? A lousy sum of 3 lakhs is absolutely ridiculous for the precious lives that are now separated from us. Trading a human life with a piece of paper...
Re: The other 30 people killed…
Pakistan is still tense after the attack that killed Benazir Bhutto. At least forty others were killed in that blast. Al Jazeera’s Sohail Rahman reports of how many of them are struggling to come to terms with the loss of both their leader, and family members.

Around 60 people killed after that as well by rampaging PPP supporters and criminals in the days after BB was killed.
