Re: The open challenge of Quran to the whole world
Sorry brother, I didn’t mean to say in that sense. I totally agree with you.
I just wanted the comparison only for the non-muslims to see the beauty of attributes of Allah and how no one else can give so many comprehensive yet unique attributes.
Re: The open challenge of Quran to the whole world
Look my god is better your god because I have written about him in 99 different ways.....................

Re: The open challenge of Quran to the whole world
This thread sound like five year olds bragging among themselves...........My God is greater than your God........your God has only 30 attributes, mine has 99, you can't beat me....Grow up ppl !
I dont think that original post brags about that. If it was then the original poster is violating the name # 66 (of his post) by saying that he beileves that there are more than one god, only his is better than others

"Not a single human of any religon, in my knowledge, has ever been able to think of more than 20 attributes to their Ultimate Lord. If there are ANY, Show it RIGHT HERE! in THIS thread.
IF "You" are any non muslim reading this post. Just pick up a pen and paper and write how many attributes you can write related to your ultimate Lord before scrolling down this post."
there are multiple reference to "your ultimate lord" or "your religion" in this thread...................this means someone is actually chalenging that "my God is the greatest..........Bring it on" GROW UP PPL

It is evident that the original poster does not beleive in all the attributes but just wants to bragg about it. I don't find anything wrong with that......If you buy a Mercedes with 150 features in it.....you are not going to use all of them are you ?

When i was in love during my teens, i could have written 1001 attributes about the person I fell in love with......woh junnon, woh garam khoon ab kaha...and I am sure I am not the only who thought like that !!

Brother are you trying to say that you are not very emotional about your creator that you may write that much attributes ?

I appologise for my bad communication, but what I intended to say was that our God is the same but the way Quran expresses attributes towards God (Allah) is the perfect one and I havent seen anyone giving such beautiful and perfect attribute to his Lord.
That is why I challanged anyone to show better and more attributes then that

No no brother, your God is the same as mine. I appologise if you got the impression of "Your God" and "My God" from my earlier posts. In that case I might have made some mistake in communication.Forgive me for that. It is only the difference of way we think about them. I am only asking you to find as many beautiful ways of expressing the characteristic of " Our" creator as beautifully, uniquely and comprehensively. ( To whom you might give a different name instead of Allah)

That's more like it..........I am in for "Our God" rather than 'your God' or 'my God'.
Re: The open challenge of Quran to the whole world
I don't think you will have any takers on the argument that Muslims worship God less than others. Don't Muslims believe the purpose of life is to worship God?

I agree with you that Muslims (being human) do not fulfill the obligation they have towards Allah. But that is why Islam so much stresses on the concept of repentance. The qualities of Rahman and Raheem have a purpose and usefulness.
Do Muslims believe that the purpose of life is to worship Allah (SWT). In a way, yes that is true. Muslims believe that the purpose of life is to live it as asked by Allah (SWT). That includes taking care of the rights of Allah (by having faith and reflection of the faith by doing worship) and the rights of Humans (who are the creation of Allah, thus showing respect to Him by respecting his creation)

Yea, but who does? No matter their faith.

Cool. That's why I like posting here, I find it rewarding to find differing points of view within the different faiths. There can be no monolithic interpretation. If there were we would all be following it by now and living in nirvana. It would be obvious I think when we see it.
Re: The open challenge of Quran to the whole world
And who is the judge? ........................... ............Nuff said!
My intentions were not to needle other people's beliefs but to have a friendly discussion on this matter and let people of other religon also contribute by sharing how they express their love towards the Ultimate Lord respectively
A "Positive" callenge should not be taken as an insult but an opportunity to share views and explore beliefs without de-grading others or making fun of them. Did I insult other's religon ? It would have been insulting if I had picked some specific religon and tried to give negative remarks regarding it or made fun of it.
No one would get any reward in this discussion but alot of people would insha'Allah know each other's religon even better, they might find some common good practices, and even new things to learn.
When you challenge someone to have a race with you, you are actually giving him an opportunity to show his abilities, because a positive competition leads to betterment.
Re: The open challenge of Quran to the whole world
tariqlkhan, the meaning might be different, but only at a technical level.
Compassionate is essentially the same as merciful...
Brother, as far as I remember
Rehman: is specially used for all the living organisms whom Allah blesses with all the blessings like, food, air, water......etc. Alot of times it is used for all humanity.
Raheem: is used specifically for male and female believers, and HIS special blessings upon them because of their sincerity, sacrifices and patience on hardships in the way of Allah.
Example (just for our understanding):
A mother loves all her children and is kind to all of them. But her kindness and mercy would be more on those children who are respectful, serving and obedient to her as compared to those who are not obedient to her.:)
Re: The open challenge of Quran to the whole world
^ Actually in real life, many times a mother actually gives more care, concern and love to a wayward child more than she does with one who is on the right path.
