Re: The one and only Bruce Lee thread

Best Bruce Lee fights scenes are in his film way of the dragon, in which he takes on a buch of street thugs with a double nunchaku! (first time ever on film!) And the famous fight with Chuck Norris is from the same film.

Fist of Fury is my other standout Bruce Lee film, although some may find it a bit too emotionally charged, the fights are still superb.

Bruce Lee was an amazing person, he was a living legend and his untimely death cememented his legacy as the greatest Kung Fu fighter ever to hit the screen in the 20th century.

I was inspired to learn the Nunchaku after seeing him use it so effectively. Funnily enough his trademark weapon, known as the singing rods of death, is niether a Japanese or Chinese invention. It’s actually a common agricultural implement found all over Asia. The humble thresher, :hehe: but the islanders of Okinawa (who started Karate), varios Ninja clans and most of the peasant revolts of Asia have favoured the Nunchaku as a very effective close quarters weapon.

There are as many as 11 varieties of the Nunchaku, and Bruce Lee used many styles of martial arts, he was perhaps the first modern… mixed martial artist.

His combination of powerfull physical appearance and expert knowledge of several fight styles made him a formiddable fighter.

Another truth less known among people is that Mr Lee actually had to fight many rival film stars, the famous Chinese martial artist Sammo Hung, to this day, bears a scar on his upper lip which he got from Mr Lee after going mano mano in raymond Chaos Golden Harvest film company studios.
