The older one

How did you tell your older kid(s) about the new baby?

My big one really wants to have a sibling. His bestfriend is having a little bro in a few months and the kid is telling it to everyone at school, so now mine keeps asking me when he’ll have a younger sibling. Hubby told him we’ll get him a little bro after christmas a few weeks ago, but he does not seem to understand it or maybe he forgot it. He asked me again. I am clueless.

So how did you tell your kid?

I do not plan to tell the bee story as for now

Re: The older one

no one?

Re: The older one

Other way round for us, mine didn’t want one at all so we told him sibling will bring gifts.

The older one

How old is your elder son? Just tell him that mama and papa have a present for him cuz he was good and it’s a baby they will be giving him soon. Assuming your son is in kindergarten or slightly older, he will buy this reason  that’s what I think! Congrats btw!

Re: The older one

He is 6 years old  .. He is soooo happy to know he is going to be bigbro soon. It’s very cute

Re: The older one

lol we didnt.

but my munchkin discovered my scans and realised herself mama was having a baby. She thought i had a monkey in my tummy and then realised it was a baby :cb:

Re: The older one

Just tell him, we are having a little baby, you will have someone to play with all the time

I told my girls after the 3 month mark about having a little baby, then after 20 week scan we found out it was going to be a boy so I told them they were going to have a ‘baby bahi’ :hehe: but mine also were really young; 4 and 3 years old, but they understood as my tummy grew and used to give my tummy aka ‘baby’ kisses…Awww mA!!

Re: The older one

Awwww … That’s so cute!

Re: The older one

My kids are too young to be told. But I guess I’ll tell my older, who’s 3.5 years old, when I start showing .. don’t know if she’ll truly get it until we actually have the baby lol.
