I really like the telescopes milz! you should sell em off to the freshies, it'll help them do their 'poondi' with more ease and clarity.

Looks good Milly, U know what else u should try is too get children to stick stars down on to paper then get them to join them up with a pencil, and get them to talk about what shapes/objects they see…

Or get them to stick stars down on to tracing paper (tracing over objects/shapes) then stick them on to black fabric on the ceiling…

Just a thought to keep the trainee teacher buzy…:mehr:

Thanks luv, we have about a million and one aliens to stick up on our night sky yet. Some of them are even bringing in boxes to make rockets!

Hareem are you suggesting our role play area is not real!?! :(

Unfortunately there are no plans to visit an Observatory just yet. The other two Year 1 classes do not have the same role play area and Astronomy isnt really a Key Stage 1 topic. I tried to broaden their little minds with our 'Light and Dark' topic by introducing an Observatory.

Last year, one of the children who is in my class now, claimed he 'hated me' I HATE YOU Miss Milly' he would scream.

Now, 11 months later...he loves me!
