The non-halal colors for men

I was aware of red being a color that men have been asked to avoid wearing. Today I heard that saffron, orange and yellow are also not recommended.

Please clarify…

Nowhere in the Quran does it say that colors are not recommended or permitted. It is an innovation that is falsely attributed to GOD. YOu can wear whatever color you want.

Re: The non-halal colors for men

I heard that its safron

Re: The non-halal colors for men

saffron is an orangy red or a yellowy orange

Re: The non-halal colors for men

orangy red

Re: The non-halal colors for men

Red as pure red may not be allowed as per some fiqah (hanafi, hanbali-(Al-mawsu`a al-fiqhiyya al-Kuwaitiyya) but red with other combination such as stripes may not be prohibited.

What is the ruling on men wearing red?

Pure red color (except Maroon which means red plus brown) is not popular among men around the world anyway. Pure red is so unbecoming for men. Same is true with bright Yellow for men.

Personally, men should not wear shocking colors or too bright colors.

Re: The non-halal colors for men

Not aware of colors for shirts etc but certaily Black is haram as hair color except in certain conditions.

Re: The non-halal colors for men

There are three colors that are best for men to avoid, in general (whether in our out of prayer):

Sulfur
Saffron red
and Pure yellow, when any of these colors is on its own without other colors.
It is not sinful to wear them, but it is somewhat disliked according to most scholars of the Hanafi school. [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar, 5.228, Bulaq ed.]

And Allah alone gives success.
