Well, since this is an old thread...
What seems to be the big deal here??? Car number plates are auctioned all around the world, even in Pakiland there is customization of plates at a high cost.
The same guy bought no. 7 after a few weeks for 11 million. Here in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, & some other Emirates, its a craze to have a good number plate. Goes for the rest of the world as well. If I had that kinda money, I would have paid the same amount as well...coz all of the money raised from that auction went to charity. Abu dhabians are known for their generosity, specially towards Pakiland. People just dont know it. This dude in his interview told the radio, how he grew up to be a good business man. Besides, he made it clear, it was the charity that is getting the money.
I paid a hefty sum for my number plate, coz I like it. Numbers have a connection, & it didnt start a few years back, its been there since the advent of time.
I will show u how to count these numbers...1-10, I can go on till 99999, but then again, I dont have that time.

PCG, where were you when the shiekhs of Dubai & Abu Dhabi were the first to send over their aircrafts with food & medicines...back when the October earthquake occurred, or when they were transferring millions for the affected. It just doesnt stop there, they do countless other deeds, which hardly ever come under the spotlight. So how can you generalize all of them under the same umbrella.
When a person commits a sin, who are you or me to judge what they are doing is right or wrong. Can we only see them going to Las Vegas...??? I have lived my time with these people, from the sheikhs to the ordinary emirati citizen. When the shiekhs do come out in their Xpensive Bentleys & SLRs, they will not be in constant fear of a dangerous carjacking, or someone waiting to blow a sheikhs head off...do u know why, because they are loved by their own citizens. They do everything for them, from scratch, pay for their education, healthcare, housing, u name it. They have all of it, & they don't pay taxes.
