I didnt read the whole thing but i'd just say that...there are much much much prettier girls out there than Ashwariya rai...My friend is actually Ashwaria Rai look alike except she hasnt been through all the surgeries Ash must have gone through. her eye lift and lip are the famous ones god know how many more thing she has gotten done to herself, because if you look at her miss world clips she looks like a little sanwali chimpanzee with colored eyes. And her first film was with bobby deol named aur pyar hogaya she looks kind of sneha ullal and okish...i find her expressionless she just speaks the ratta hua dialogs and the one eyebrow lift expression..rain coat to had the same she only gained weight..nothing else. But if you like her its your opinion i didnt say all this to reconsider..or anything.
there might be prettier girls for other ppl but for me she is the most beautiful...aur pyar hogaya was her second film but first in hindi....as far as the surgeries r concerned...i dont think she has undergone any surgeries coz she was pretty from the start....and as for the contest is concerned she looked just toooooo pretty throughout the show)...well ok dats ur opinion i respect it :) :)
^I agree. I think with the exception of very few movies, all of aishwarya's movie have flopped if you look her career graph. If it wasn't for two movies becoming popular (HDDCS, Taal), she would have continued to be how she was before. Even after that, she starred in nothing that was to boast of except Devdas a few years later and between that and Dhoom 2, again her body of work was quite pathetic.
She is hyped up because of her international exposure and looks because if you look at what she has done in bollywood itself, there's nothing to really wah wah about except a couple of movies here and there. And let's not forget that all those movies starred major stars like Salman, Shahrukh, Anil Kapoor, Hrithik.. so it's not like she was the sole reason for the movies' success.
I agree, movies she has done with SLB are the only movies which have actually actually done very good..be it story or anything else...while dhoom 2 was a hyped movie with no story, just plastic looking babes and one guy. Mohabbatein can't be said it was her movie, she just did kind of supporting role. Jodha akbar was also crap! if it isnt for few movies you see her working in very weird movies like albela, etc..Not one movie you can say wah! ash did a great job you can just say she looked nice etc but her performance doesnt stand out in any of the movies and if people dont get what i mean just watch the ash and madhuri scene in devdas...and see the levels of acting/ difference between the expressions of them two.
And the international hhype is also way to hyped by the Indian media my teachers went to watch the bride and prejudice and none of them found her pretty and kept on saying they wanted their money back for the whole week...

She looks really bad with makeup on in reality because it looks over done and caked up...it only in edited pictures and movies with all the lighting she looks good at times.

i dont think she and madhuri are even comparable at any level.. forget aish, i don't think any actress can live upto the magic that madhuri created.. she is a stunner all the way.

there was a STUNNING woman in the movie khoya khoya chand playing a suporting role of an actress. she was simply gorgeous. dont know her name. I also LOVE soha ali khan....she has a very old school look to her...
but no...to me no one comes close to ashwarya on screen. i love madhuri too...ash, mads and rekha are like goddesses. im crazy about their dancing.
The stunning supporting actress in Khoya Khoya Chand was Sonya Jehan or something, granddaughter of Madam Noor Jehan.
well, yeah there's difference in aish face in the 90s and now, but thats because of the aging factor i guess. her face is more toned, no more baby fats. thats what it is. i dont think she did any surgeries.

i think ash may have had a nose surgery because her nose is much tinier now but im not sure. could be that sometimes your nose changes as you gain/lose weight, get older etc?

next aishwarya rai? in my opinion no one can take her place....n here i am talking about the looks..maine use zaida haseen ladki nahi dekhi and no one can be soooo beautiful like aish...she has a unique face ...(eventhough we have some look-alike of hers...but even then she stands out)...she is soooo pretty...even in her first film (tamil film iruvaar)....she luked sooooooo pretty speacially those two songs hello mr and Vennilae.....(none of the other actresses looked dat good in their first films but aish was and is totally breathtaking).....i love her personality too...love wacthing her interviews n googling her pics..i never get tired of looking at the same picture/video of hers...its one of my biggest dream to meet her..and if i get a chance by god than i would loooove to reborn as aish..hmmm as an actress i find her ok...she has done some great performances in films like raincoat, provoked n choker bali followed by taal, hddc n devdas (she was heaven in that) (i heard iruvaar was a very good film too...not seen it yet)...sometimes her acting is not upto the mark but i still ,love watching her movies coz i watch them not coz of her acting but coz to see how more pretty she can look...i just love aishwarya..she is number 1.....

If you are surrounded with beautiful people - you will think Ash is just average looking.
At one time I was chatting on some message board that had South Indian (Tamil) majority. Oh GOD I can't tell you enough - They believed Ash to be one of the goddess of beauty. Then I realized that people who have darker skin totally worship Ash like a goddess. People with lighter skin - don't even care that she exists.
I think Ash is not all that. She is not a woman of substance. Meaning that she puts up a face for the people. She is not brave like Sushmita Sen to LIVe life as it comes. Susmita is one person I adore because she is not afrraid to share her good and bad experiences in life - which in turn you can learn from. Ash is one plastic face that you will NEVER learn anything from - though she is a celebrity in the limelight.
everyone will get to see how pretty she is without all that makeup
