the new visa scheme issued by paki government?

assalamoalikum :jhanda:

i have heard that the pakistani embassy or government have made a new law for non resident pakistani’s, which is that even though u have a pakistani passport u still need visa on your british passport which cost about 30 odd pounds and its only for a year.

so i bloddy have to pay every yr to go to pakistan even though i have apaki passport, wat good is that passport to me now!!!

kasam see yeh pakistani’s be jinaa haram kar deetey hain

I'm sorry but I don't understand. Don't you loose your Pakistani passport if you become a British citizen? if so then that way you would have get a visa for Pakistan.

Re: the new visa scheme issued by paki government?

What happened to that overseas pakistani card thingie? I think that overseas Pakistanis should be welcomed into the country, without these stupid charges, which is the main reason why all of this is being done.

you can get a overseas resident card for $15...and its valid for 10 years... that card works as visa and NIC

Britain and Pakistan allow Dual Nationality. so no.. you do not lose you citizenship for either country.

Earlier you were able to get stamp on the back of your british passport that you were british citizen, therefore exempt for the need of a visa to visit Pakistan.

The above scheme was abolished in early 90s.

They introduced multi entry visas for citizens, which were cheaper than those for foreign nationals.

that also was abolished.

The governments since then have been trying to milk the foreign based Pakstanis dry for Visa related fee.

and lets not start on tha arrogant attitude of the Pakistani embassy staff at the High Commission in London. Have not had dealings with any other Pak embassy so can't compare.. but they are the most foul mouthed arrogant sons of XYZ ....

but then they do have to deal with other Pakistanis who think it is their God given right that they have priority above others...

oh well.. not that it bothers me anymore..

decided long time ago not to go back to Pakistan.. can't stand the public's attitude there.
