The new PS3 Slim

Is it any different than the regular PS3 other than size? The hardware is same?

Slim has this video transfer capability so you can play it on your Plasma or LCD tv if you buy the optional cable.

The hardware is pretty much the same but from what I remember they have streamlined the hardware. It is smaller, quieter and consumes less power than its non-slim counterpart. There are some other changes. If I remember correctly, it also has less USB ports than the original model.

I don’t find it is useful because I need the USB ports etc… I use wireless keyboard and mouse and all those attachements along with it so less USB ports is a bad thing for me

How many USB ports does the original PS3 model have? If I were to get a PS3, I’d probably also go for the original model.

Actually fat spartan I never counted, I know there are two at the front, but never looked at the backside properly :S ..

^^ you can always get a USB hub for that purpose… Slim is way too different in the looks than the bulky old PS3.

CooolBreeze.. I saw slim but it was not my taste. I like the way my old bulky PS3 looks.

I also prefer the look of the original model. When they slim down these things, they usually lose out on something the original had. With the PS2 I know the slim version lacked something the original had, but I can no longer remember what that was.

i’d prefer ps3 slim as it looks better and probably designed better then the older one. As far as usb are concerned there are alwayz usb hubs which can provide you with as many usb’s as u want.
