Ohh my love for UNIX, APACHE and SAMBA doesn’t get any deeper than that…wht would we do without UNIX???

Any P4 will kick G4’s butt but only for a cheaper price. Athlons even.

If yur not into Grafic and video editting… Macs are a waste of money.

Mac users are like Linux users. Cuz not everyone uses Macs (or Linux) they come up with reasons why they are the Elite.

I386 + windows is the easiest home computing IMHO.

Ps. Amry how are you running Office XP on solaris? Wine’ing it?

Its awesome-looking. Its like, straight out of a sci-fi movie. I will invent a peripheral that swerves the screen to look at you at all times, nomatter where you are in the room. I will make millions muahahahaha

I personally thin kthe new iMac a amazing. You have to admit it is one sweet machine. I mean how can you compare any computer in the same proce bracket. When i checked you could get one for 1,200 off the apple site. So thats not all that much money. Hell my computer cost that much and it was only slightly better than average in 2000.
Look at it compared to others. Mac’s 750Mhz computer last year blew away 1.5 Ghz in a sweet 1/5 of the load time of 6 simultaneously loadaing programs. And this one hasa 800Mhz in it.
The CD/DVD dirves are fast, work well. I know there are two G4 Video Suite Macs at the back of the room.
It’s a flat screen monitor, grfx rendering; simply amazing.
That and they came out with a new mouse for the last ones, so we can only hope they get rid of the ‘click the entire damn top’ mouse.

Thats my thoughts on it.
I’d get one if i can afford one this summer

Here a normal P4 with decent configuration costs approx 1000 bucks. And if you want a flat screen LCD, add another 250 bucks.

And this one in 1,299 with a flat screen, so no. Its not rediculously expensive. I’d rather say its very well priced. Steve Jobs is known for driving very hard bargains with his suppliers, and I am sure he got those LCD screens darn cheap to be able to give them with a G4 for only $1,299!
