The complete "sold-out" feeling is hard when you've owned a Galaxy. Like in my case, I'm still holding on to my S4. It would be easier to switch if you've had other phones I suppose. But yes, overall a fantastic phone for the price.
Woot! Got mine delivered yesterday, thanks to @us1415. Its an OSM phone but my problem is that I've been spoiled by my Note 3.
The OP-O is slightly less wide, lighter and a fraction thinner than the Note 3. It comes with CyanogenMod so that's a score right off the bat. The packaging was a million bucks right there :). In short this is the biggest bang for my buck in a long time.
The CM Theme'ing is wonderful. I just put an Android L theme on it and it looks like my Nexus 5 with Android L, including the boot animation. The camera is better than a lot of phones i've used in the recent past. But my Note 3 still beats it.
Just ran the Antutu benchmarking app on it. It scored a blistering 37,224. (My Note3 gets me 36,500)
So as I said, its a great phone with a pure Android experience (plus some customization'ability) and no bloat at an unbelievable price.
A definite BUY!
Good to hear that you like it but wont be moving away from the note series. I am waiting on note 4 and will get that one as soon as it hits the market.
In almost 375 dollars its a very good phone indeed... lots of goodies and style to go with it.
The best overall phone however is the Samsung Galaxy S5 in 2014. And thats coming from a mobile geek. Camera, durability, speeds, blah blah... So go around and compare the S5 with HTC one M8, Xperia Z2, Nokia Lumia ICON, LG G3 OnePlusOne, Oppo 7, Iphone 5s(2013 but still pretty good), and many more... on average S5 is da beast this year around... the only phone that's left apart from the Phablet note 4, is the iphone 6... thats the ONLY comparison worth notable this year as far as flagships are concerned.
Did they fix the lagging and other issues? Warranty seems to be nowhere with this company compared to Samsung.
But, nothing beats Nexus for the out-of-the-box experience. No tinkering to get rid of bloatware and ROM updates to get rid of touchwhiz. Of course, iOS beats that with a longer software update cycle.
OnePlus One comes with CyanogenMod as the default version of ANdroid. So this has no bloatware either. Its actually much better than Nexus5 in that regards, hardware and configuration wise. They update on a more frequent basis than AOSP with features and what not.
