They were doing this fund rasing for National Commission on Human Development in The Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad. The NCHD under the leadership of Dr. Naseem Ashraf is working in the rural areas of Pakistan into bringing poor kids and adults in school.
President Mushraff was there in the begining of the transmission. Imran Khan was also there along with Mr. Edhi. Then Jaanshir Khan came along.

I think the biggest highlights were when Fekher-e-alm sold Imran Khan’s signed bat for 10 lakhs to some Chohdary in England. Then I think the last bidding on Jaanshir’s racket was 19 lakhs. Also Dr. Naseem speaking Pushto on stage with Jaanshir was really something. I’m a half pathan myself so really relished that moment. Also school kids donating from their pocket money was an emotional moment as well.

Bushra Insari, Sania Saeed, Fakher-e-alam as hosts really brought in life to the transmission. Within 4 or 5 hours into transmissoin they had raised a little over 14 crores and I think it’s still on. Great work :k:

yup the transmission was awesome. It just ended a few minutes ago and they raised over 16 crore Rupees which is aweome :k:

I wish I could buy Imran’s bat :bummer:

Ok it just finished and by the end of the show they had raised 16 crores and a few lakhs. I myself donated but will not reveal the amount. Janshir Khan’s raket was sold for 32 lakhs. President Mushraff’s family donated 3 lakhs, comedian Umer Shreif 5 lakhs. Bushra Insari once again proved to be an oustanding host. “Apko chahe hameri awaz na aye, humien aap ki awaz aa rehi hai, paison ki awaz bohut saaf ati hai humein”:hehe: Bushra. Sania Saeed and Faalm were both good. Shehzad Roy, Jawad Ahmed and Abrar all performed well.

Over all it was a great emotinally charged show full of partriotism. Let’s pray Allah helps Dr. Naseem Ashraf and his ogranization in this genorous act.

It was shown on PTV Prime last Sunday live fron pakistan, the models showing off the bridal wear were :eek: especially Iman Ali,

That new girl had a beautiful voice her name was Tayaba, the song was great, her voice was unique not like other pakistani female singers.

Shaida Minni got every1 excited on her entry, she also looked :eek:

Other performers inc Jawad, Najam, Fakhir.

PTV to air longest-ever live telethon today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s longest ever live telethon will air on Pakistan Television (PTV) on Sunday (today).

The six-hours-long show ‘Pehla Qadam, is organised by the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) to raise for money the Human Development Fund (HDF). President General Pervez Musharraf will also participate in the show to be held at Islamabad Convention Centre from 6:30pm to 12:30am.

The show’s proceeds will be used by the NCHD for health improvement, education development and poverty alleviation purposes.

The show’s objective is to mobilise human and material resources worldwide and expedite the process of sustainable and positive social transformation in Pakistan.

The show includes live performances by local artists, documentaries and feature productions.

To facilitate donations, viewers in US, Canada, Europe, UK and Pakistan can call in during the show.

The government and NCHD officials including Jemima Khan, Mr and Mrs Abdul Sattar Edhi, Jansher Khan, film hero Muhammad Ali, Nadeem and actress Zeba will attend the show.

Umar Sharif, Ismail Tara, Bushra Ansari, Marina Khan, Sania Saeed, Shahnaz Sheikh, Atiqa Odho, Samiuddin, Mahrin, Neha, Aiman Ali, Naushaba will participate and singers Ali Haider, Ibrarul Haq, Jawad Ahmad, Shehzad Roy, Fusion Group, Rahim Shah, Fakhir-e-Alam, Najam Shiraz, Fakhir Mahmood, Tina Sani and Zil-e-Huma will perform.
