Yeah I'd heard about this. Some Anti-Muslim groups have cited this as further "proof" of Muslim hatred toward Jews. Pamela Geller I believe has referenced this one quite often in her rants.
The tragedy in all of this, of course, is that it simply was not “our” war. Fighting for either side got Muslims nothing…rather the occurrence of WWII weakened colonial empires to a degree which pretty much saw the end of colonialism and the haphazard rise of Muslim nation states.
