The National Scholars Honor Society:

I have recieved an invitation to apply for the Magna cum Laude honors society but the funny thing is that my new GPA after my transfer is no way close to their average accepted one which is about 3.6. The hous that I transfered , it was 3.83 but at this University where I have started its 3.0, and I havent gotten my grades yet which are not that high…or I hope I do get the high one dependent on Allah Mian that is.
Anyway My question is should I apply right now or wait as I am not a member of any other extra curricular activities too..or should I sign up for some other groups etc.I dont think they will accept me wit my current GPA , but then again why did they send me the invite with a code in it:hmmm:…Any members care to answer?

Hi Ask99.

if you are in high school, and the guidance counselors, send high avg students' info t NHS. and a mass mailing is done to induct new NHS in the society.
if in coll, make sure you discuss this with your deans.
obviously your gpa is meeting their qualification reqs.
i would say that when you are applying to NHS, based on your GPA, make sure that you explain your transfer related change in the GPA. a letter offering induction in Honor's society, i am hopeful.

best,
