I don't mind paying the zakat, if the money goes for providing defense and education. If it goes for upkeep of mosques and mandirs and stuff then, no way! Also, if I can pay for it I would like to erect as many churches, mandirs, gurdwaras, earth goddess temples, synogogues as I want. I also want to trade interest based products and want to convert as many muslims as I want to my pagan ways. if all that is allowed, along with open denunciation of the leader, no sanctioning of morality like TV, porn, Salman Rushdie etc. and separate laws for non-muslims, along with abolition of marrying one's cousin. I am all for the Khilafah.

Dubya's faith based initiatives will soon land tax dollars in preachers hands and schools that promote teaching the Christian faith... Protest That.

Try doing that to Bush in the US today and we'll see how far you go in your job, whatever you might be doing..

you think TV here doesn't thrust down everyone's throat it's own brand of morality??
PA, I do all that you are suggesting everyday. It;s the right to do it. Tell me that under khilafah I can say screw the friggin khalifah and his bizzatches in the harem. Cuz I can say that to Bush right now.
"Bush can blow me"
So, my question is going blank…….
“Will you please mention any Islam kingdome from past gloryfied without any bloodshed or religious racism?”
It is better that you people ignore this question. You have nothing to show in practical.
Matsui, Bush can blow you under the Khalifa system too. The only restriction is that you cant blow Khalifa himself. Other are not off limits, specially the non-believers.
Sorry
i thought Fraudz had addressed this query rather well - or am i mistaken?
The other thing I find amazing is this constant rambling of "well..if it is implemented in earnest or whatever..." People!!! You had 1500 years for crying out loud. The system may not be implementable. It is like a search for profundity or the perfect Cheesecake. Settling for 90% is not failure. Western Democracy is the best khilafah that you could ever hope for.
Forgot to mention this; Fantoosh, one more point - you might be interested to read up on some pieces regarding Karen Armstrong, such as this one (particularly the very last paragraph in that article). Her book, “Islam: a short history”, is (perhaps) a useful read as well.
.
Fantoosh, if you want another view point. Read "The Crisis Within Islam" by Bernard Lewis. An enlightening read.
^ Simultaneously, why not just pick up an English transl. of the Quran from your local library - to ascertain precisely what "crises" are located within Islam.
(
Please think before you type, Matsui
).
Quran does not cover muslim history. Logic is circular anyway when trying to involve quran with muslim history.

Logic is also circular when trying to involve Islamic principles with Muslim behaviour. Of late, the two have rarely coincided.
Most of the world can differentiate between culture and religion. But one! Wanna guess... who? This is not to say it is good or bad but in Islam, as it is said over and over that "Islam is a way of life". Meaning it is culture, religion, governance etc. I don;t htink it is true but most muslims here would say it is.
ex. no one calls suicide bombers martyrs except the terrorists and their symathizers of their religion and they will quote enough scripture to make your head spin in terms of validating their assertion.

I just hope that (inshallah) someone soon with rise to bring back the glory days of the Muslim Empire.

soon, inshallah. Slowly muslims are becoming aware of their status.

True. That is still no reason to be scared of someone who chooses to live her/his life according to Islam - you see it as suppression, or, the potential for someone imposing their religious beliefs upon you. For me, albeit Islam is a way of life, it is MY way of life. i'm not going to choke it down anyone's throat or force someone to believe what i believe. That would be, in simple terms, plain stupidity and ignorance on anyone's part. It's a way of life for many people, but if others understood precisely what Islam is - then perhaps there would be less xenophobia.

Anyone with half their reasoning faculties can quote anything they want, from any scripture and justify it. Just like Timothy McVeigh or Osama bin Laden.

Same can be said for other "way's of lives" as well. To the adherent of that "faith" not "fact", it is a way of life. If muslims can understand that there are different views and different path's to god and different governance mechanisms and ideologies than there would be less Xenophobia on their part, no?
Secondly, on one hand you say "culture and religion" are distinct entities. Ont he other you say, "it is a way of life". So which is it?

Exactly, do you concur that those people, like the two pakistanis who went to blow up innocents in Israel are terrorists? How many christians do you think come to the aid of Timothy McVeigh? vs.. How many muslims come to the aid of Osama? I didn't see rallies in NYC for Tim McVeigh's point of views, unlike the one's in Gaza and Peshawar.

look at the rallies taken out in support for our friendly hindu terrorists(VHP etc). Rein them in before another carnage ensues.
