I must admit, the metal/rockstar type music and videos that they keep showing are really beginning to annoy me. I don’t enjoy that type of music at all. Ooper say woh gypsy look and lambhay baal influenced by the west. I’ve gathered that people in Karachi are really into this type of music.
God you people are always complaining about something. Here's a proposition: every time you complain, place a penny in a pot to make something better in Pakistan.
we've had this channel for about two weeks now, and im already sick of looking at 1) noori (yuk); and (2) the same three videos that they keep repeating baar baar. i agree with those who have stated above that they should play all kinds of music -- even older videos.
i was really excited about this channel, but honestly think they need more variety. i think some programs on ary have a better mix of paki/indian songs too.... i think different countdown shows would be fun to watch too.
^^ naah. Prolly you're just a huge paindoo :) The hypocrites here have no problems with watching "westernised" bollywood nonsense! Like Krishna Kumar wearing three stripes and shaking his butt with some "sexy" east european babes (?) drooling over him -- I'd throw up on that!
^^ Identity takes a while to develop. Keep in mind the fact that the media scene has been bottled up fpr the past five decades in Pakistan, experimentation has only now started. Channels like The Musik [however ridiculous they are] or IM or whatever else that is coming out of Pak is part of that. Things will take time to shape up properly, and though I have no issues with us going the more liberal way, I doubt that will really be the case. But keep in mind that liberal was the way Pak was goin in the 60s and 70s, even if you take a look at the dramas from early 70s or 80s you'll find a good dose of western suits and proper british gentlemen attire for the guys which is totally absent now. I mean you have to look somewhere for inspiration --and certainly, we don't want to ape the Krishna Kumars with the huge sleaze factor. Make it clean, make it slick, make it *very *Pakistani. A healthy "western" dose doesn't hurt.
most of the music coming out on the muzik is crap...
there are hundreds of great songs that have come out of Pakistan in the past which they never play..
guys with long hair playing guitars and drums!!?!?!! meant to be rock pop watever lol they suck
wats up with these wannabe presenters!?!?
where's Pakistan; not that im against western clothing, we already got western channels here; where's shalwar kameez, where's the Salaam & Allah Hafiz?
living on the edge..the show may have some good bits.. but if a victim or the victims friend is not happy as was the case in one of the episodes; he disgraced him on the show; thats not done; some of the contestants target rather shareef/quiet/innocent people; humiliation; thats not done!!
band to bajey ga; ever heard their comments/points?? soft image of pakistan?? yeah rite
music that they currently play; very few songs i like that i like...
^ OK I appreciate the quality of some of the movies/music produced by India and the talent of some of the artists, and so do many other pakistanis, Just because u watch/appreciate other’s movies/programmes, it doesn’t mean that u r set out to promote their culture
The argument here is about Pakistani culture, just summarising what HH said, Shalwar Kameez, Salaam, Allah Hafiz etc Why is the Pakistani Entertainment Industry just following what the indians are doing e.g. copying the way that models/host’s dress and behave, Why can’t it build upon and promote their own pakistani culture?
Read the title of the thread: the musik : your thoughts on the channel
The Musik does air in Pakistan, for those who asked.
And I find The Musik preferable to IM. Mostly because The Musik plays a variety of everything, from established bands/singers to the newer, more unknown bands/singers. IM is paid to play mostly only established artists and they leave little room for unknown talent. Not to mention, they have a lot of politics on that channel, which is why Dino, Anoushey, Mani, etc. all left IM as VJs a while back.
Haha, my mom's in Pakistan right now, so I'm waiting for her to get back, so I can get sattelite - just for The Musik. Haha.
and meri qismat, whenever i watch the channel i get to watch the stupid show which “connects” fashion to music!! This time i watched the one with sonia khan tooba i believe, OMG somebody needs to slap thee models
and someone needs to shut down this channel! waste of time and money.
