the thing is that it is being broadcasted from pakistan or dubai. which means that it is running on pakistan time, which happens to be about 12 hours ahead, if you're in the west. so say when i wanna watch it at night, they spend a lot of time on ads...and after a while, i can't stand it. and then when they do play a song, it's almost amazing, though it's old stuff...like 3 yrs old. otherwise the channel is good. i just switch between this and other moojic channels. hope that helps.

^ this will change. They adjust the clock based on the geographic location of the intended audience. This is what happened when GEO, ARY and PRIME started their transmission in the U.S

The Musik: not all that. but they have a hand over Indus Music in getting exclusive pakistani videos from local popsters and rock bands. as far as the programming is concerned, its pretty much run of the mill with cheesy sets and fobby VJ’s. but what really makes them better than Indus Music is that they are more international i.e. airing arabic and hindi videos and not to forget audioslave and ricky martin videos once in a while. interviews of local celebrities are always entertaining and i think they do more interviews of the rockstars than any other pakistani channel. since the channel is under ARY, they pretty much are well financed in order to get licenses to broadcast live shows for example the LIVE 8 Concert from last year was shown exclusively in pakistan thru the musik. but i would suggest its worth a try for five bucks. agar pasand nai aaya toh discontinue. simple. either that or wait for indus music. :halo:the one thing that really annoys me to top it all is the name of the channel: the musik! i mean c’mon has pakistani creativity died? ARY Music sounds much simpler and sober. alas. its been on air for three years now and people are used to it.
QTV: somehow people started calling it qawali tv, quran tv, qazi tv, etc. when it was in beta testing in pakistan but no one really knows what QTV stands for. but i must say that this is the best islamic channel right now in south asia for all muslims and i think we needed a islamic voice to be made heard throughout the world. the programs are very knowledgeable, live interaction with their viewers is a must on** QTV hence majority of programs are broadcasted live. i dont know if they will be recorded for the one running here in USA. when a program is not on air, naats, qawalis, and zakir naik shows are always on. one of my favorite show was ISTIKHARA pareshaaniyon se chutkara which was a pretty much ask aunt annie kinda show but in a islamic perspective. living in the US with majority of us needing an enlightment in our religion, i think this channel is a must for all muslims.

pcg :- its okay. They are showing it "live" from pakistan/middle east, so in terms of programming, we are getting basically what they are viewing. In terms of content, I hear Indus is much better. I am waiting for Indus to launch and then I will switch to that.
Otherwise, THE MUSIK is so-so. Some stuff is pretty good, other shows suck. Also, a few too many ads for my liking. Also, I think they can definitely improve much more on the quality of the shows.
But for 4.99, I don't think its a bad deal. So, I am trying not to complain too much. :)

TUMS, the muzik may appeal to you and to many other rock fans but i am pretty sure the abrar jawad bundle wont like it much. the reason indus keeps getting compared is because indus music is a true and pure pakistani channel unlike the muzik which promotes indian and angraizi music and they arent original with shows at times as indus is.

OIC, thanks for the clarification Sami, I've never really seen Indus so I can't comment but I really enjoy Pakistani rock so The Muzik has been cool...to be honest I haven't seen one Indian song since it's been on, I wonder why.

Okay, I got it. Here is my premature analysis:
Pro's
They show entire videos. I was not used to this with Prime, ARY or GEO.
The cartoons are funny. Have u seen the one with the pimpin' taxi driver using kids to give his car fake hydrolics? Haha.
They show a lot of underground rock videos.
They show a lot of videos by people that are not one of the big punjabi dons of music: Abrar, Jawad Ahmed, Faakhir, etc.
Some of their shows have some good humor. What is this 6 degrees show? Its got funny little skits. Cute.
Cons
Some of the VJ's are dorky and American wannabe's. But, I guess you can't expect anything more than that from people living in Pakistan.
Some shows have really silly concepts. They are, in short, a waste of time.
But hey, any channel that shows me actual videos. Okay, fine. I can tolerate them.
So for me, I give this channel two thumbs up.

on my channel guide, the channel doesn't even exist. I have dish 500. Did you have to play around with the system in order to get that channel?

It wont show up. Maybe because its in a test mode?
I called up Dishnetwork and asked them if they actually have it and sure enough, the info in this thread is correct.

It does not appear on the channal line up till you order it. When ordering, make sure you mention channel 663, and they will add it to your account for $5 per month, without any problem. Their customer reps know about the channel.

Are you guys sure that it will stay at 5 dollars/ mo? I would think that's unbelievably cheap. Aren't they planning on raising the price?
