:salam:
This is one nice and beautiful banner put up by the team.. Your intentions have been acknowldged, accepted and very appreciated:flower1:
Just wanted to emphasize few things about which some people may have problems:
When it says: We Wish all our Muslim members a sacred Ashura that does not in any case mean that it is sacred for some muslims and not for some…
Let assure it is as sacred for any sunni MUSLIM as for a shia MUSLIM…
There are two major reasons for it being sacred… (ASIDE from the fact that Quran also acknowledges in surah Tauba about it being one of the four sacred months during which no war was allowed even before the Prophet:saw: ):
- The first reason is based on Sunnah of Rasoolulah:saw: and I quote Nadia from a very beautiful thread of her:

From this website:
The word "Ashura" is derived from Ashara, which means ten. **The observation of this day goes back to Prophet Musa bin 'Emran (saas). In a hadith related by Ibn Abbas (raa) when the Messenger of Allah (saas) came to Medina, he found the Jews fasting the day of 'Ashura. He inquired why do they did so. They replied that it was a good day, the day which Allah delivered Prophet Musa (saas) and the children of Israel from their enemy. As gratitude Musa (saas) fasted that day.
The Prophet (saas) responded: “I have more right to Musa than you.” He fasted the day and commanded the believers to fast." (Agreed upon.)
**
This hadith indicates that the Prophet (saas) was in complete agreement with Prophet Musa (saas) as well as the other prophets. The point here is that the Messenger of Allah would always do an act of worship if it was prophecy reported from any of the prophets. Earlier, we see how he told us that the best voluntary fast is the fast of Dawud.
The second reason being the Great martyrdom of the grandson of the prophet and leader of the martyrs in Paradise Syyadana Imam Hussain:razi: on this day… The spirit of Islam was reborn on this very day as Allama Iqbal said:
Qatl-e-Hussain As’l maiN marg-e-Yazeed hai
Islam Zindah hota hai har Karbala kay ba’ad
We must take lessons from the life and the Shahdah of Imam Hussain bin Ali :razi: regardless of being a shia or sunni because Imam Hussain was neither a shia nor a sunni, he was a muslim and so are we…
Great job Gupshup.
