The movement that killed a Dictator

Covers the memorable events since 2007! Long live the independence of judiciary!

It was truly a people’s movement.

This movement has changed Pakistan forever and people feel that just cursing our situation and doing nothing for it will not change anything. The nation is suffering from lack of justice, terrorism, economic hardships, lack of basic amenities such as quality education, healthcare, basic infrastructure as power shortages, clean water etc etc. People have decided to become vocal and for the first time in the history of our country a dictator was thrown out disgracefully, and now the judges who were deposed and arrested illegally by the dictator have been restored by people’s movement.

I think people will now stand against any unjustice in the country and will not allow dirty games to be played on their expense. Last and not the least media has played a vital and positive role to create this awareness.

Aitzaz’s poem was the hallmark of the movement and will be taught by future generations when they will study the history of Pakistan.

here are few more videos.

here is video of road block, it didnt kill the long march either.

Re: The movement that killed a Dictator

People of Pakistan have known their power, they can challenge & force govt of rehman malik and zardari for a particular decision and/or they can drag a strong military dictator out of power...

Civil Society, Lawyers and other intellects should remember that this is the just the start of long journy toward the golden age... their will numerous problems, hurdles, Musharafs, Zardaries, Rehman Maliks, Dogars, and matter of personal interests over lapping national interests...

I congratulate the Nation to start such journey...

Re: The movement that killed a Dictator

yes true. between the ouster of musharaf and the current forcing of zardari to backtrack, people of Pakistan must have surely understood the value of people power which is really the core of democracy. let's hope not only Pakistanis but the entire region, including India, take good lessons from this. Supporting corrupt politicians based on community or ethnicity or dynasty only leads to a corrupt nation - something India has to learn more of. I read a large number of MPs and MLAs are criminals !

It is ironic and surprising to find a lesson in democracy in Pakistan but the lawyer movement is something India needs badly

Re: The movement that killed a Dictator

worth reading about mussadiq ouster in Iran in 1950's. how such movements are created and achieved objectives.
