Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You’ve Tried…

wow, you guys have got really strong stomachs :hayaa:

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

On a visit to Pakistan someone made us a salaan with tounge, brain, kidney, heart etc all mixed it! Apparently it is an expensive and special dish to offer your guests in Multan! Also these people eat stomach fondly! Ew it was disgusting...I had a bite until my cuz' told me what it was! I couldn't digest it and spat it into a tissue! That's just...urgh...I reckon! :p Anyway Auntie made me and my siblings omlette - so we left happy! Lol.

One of my other cousins loves marinating and roasting chicken feet - she's the only one in the fam who eats them! She puts them in everything esp' when making her famous chicken soup. She says it adds the best flavour and before serving takes them out!!

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

I tried squid for the first time last month and actually liked it but cudnt swallow a single bite of turkey subway filling...ewww

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

well I had squid, deer, turkey, chicken feet soup, does that make me unusual :):) I wont say I tried anything unusual, I cant stand ojhri, the stomach/intestine lining yuckkk

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

^ Ew I can't stand ojahri either yet my MIL loves making it - I have seen how she cleans it even and its gross as it looks like a dirty floor wash cloth before its cut!! That dish just really *really *disturbs me! Lol.

I find turkey so hard to digest...if I have to have it at xmas parties (work organises halal food for muslims!) I have to soak the turkey in gravy so I can swallow it!!

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

i love soft shell crab!!

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

My friend tried snails whilst we were on holiday in Marrakech, even the look of them made me gag. Totally gross!

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

Camel meat and Bataray. I was lil when my mami brought em, I liked em till I found out it was lil birdies I just ate. I cried for days and lost my appetite for meat. And same with camel. lol

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You’ve Tried…

intestines for meat or rice casing and they r yummmmmm. dil, gurdey, pheprey, ojri, kapoorey, brain, batayr, teetar etc is not unusual in our house

fresh raw milk so disgusting and stinky and not to mention a health hazard :bummer: i’ll stick to the “fake”(accoding to my dad :hehe:) packaged one.

Re: The Most Unusual Dish You've Tried...

Elephant soup in South Africa.
