^Agree, lol. Went to NY for the first time (apart from the airport) for a few days and I really wanted to try the pizza as the state’s famous for it. But my dad insisted on the renowned halal cart gyro. There was a long wait…and I thought it was just…average. I’ve had better…didn’t see what the hype was about.
Sushi. So much hype about it…and when I tried it, it was just okay. I don’t like the texture.
I heard that you can still get them at 10 AM on a Monday morning. I had some at the San gennaro feast, they were pretty good (not the original but who cares). I’ll try and let you know :balley:
any particular pizzeria or just NY-style pizza?
There’s a pizzeria not too far from me that’s supposed to be really famous…long lines as well, and $5 a slice (compared to teh avg $2)…had it…not bad but not worth the price.
For the NY’ers…I didn’t like the gyro cart at alllllllllllll…we were visiting some family out there a few years ago and they made such a hoo-haa about it. We went and…utter fail. Nothing like I thought it would be.
As for Usmania and Khan BBQ…they’re NOT all that!!! I don’t really like Usmania at all…I think the reason why its famous is because its one of the few places that looks nice on Devon. Kinda like Sabri and Serena. The food isn’t amazing at all…its just the atmosphere.
Khan BBQ I like but only certain things off the menu…not all of what they make is amazing so you have to know what to order.
So far, my favorite desi on Devon is Anmol and Khan BBQ. I’ve also heard good things about Clifton but haven’t tried it yet.
Tahoora is over rated on Devon - everything is dripping in oil!
Lobster … tastes like cotton wool to me … euuugh
