The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

I was wondering if we have our equivalent of Helen of Troy, Cleopatra, Salome, Nefertiti (not excatly religious figures I know) but you know, someone who’s similarly described as some of the names mentioned above.

I’ve heard that Hazrat Zulekha was considered the most beautiful woman in Egypt at that time (don’t quote me on that) and I think I’ve also heard that Hazrat Aisha RA was also described as striking beauty? Also I’m clueless about any renowned beauty from the Ottoman, Persian Empire or Arab Kingdoms, though I often hear about beauty and exuberance of women of Moughal Empire, and except Mumtaz I can’t name any. lol

So I’m genuinely curious to know about the exterior beauty of women in Islamic scripture and history, we all know they all had beautiful characters.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

I heard in a talk by Maulana Tariq Jameel that out of the women, the most beautiful is Hawwa (A.S) aka Eve.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

Well considering that she was the first woman created by Allah, that's hardly surprising.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

I also heard about the Bilquis, the queen of Sheeba (story of Hazrat Sulaiman) was also a beautiful woman

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

Jolie, how come Zulekha is hazrat Zulekha?
Anyways, you mentioned ottoman empire. That reminds me of Rukhsana or Roxolana wife of Suleiman the magnificent who was considered to be very beautiful and intelligent as well.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

kchughati do you knw that she married Hazrat Sulaman

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

you mean she married Hazrat Yousuf.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

^ I don't know about marriage but what I know from the Quran is that she leveled a serious accusation against hazrat yousaf (as) for which she herself was guilty.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

she was the wife of the officer who bought hazrat yousaf (as) as a slave for his household.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

I heard it was one of prophet Ibraheems wives was Sara her name? But Hawwa and Ayesha being beautiful that is not surprising.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

ya she was the wife of aziz-e-misar (baadshah).

though i am not entirely sure how true this is but just read somewhere that after aziz-e-misar's death zulekha became a good women, she apologized to god for what she did and then married hazrat yousaf (as).

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

^ No, its not true. I remember that once a scholar mentioned that the marriage of Hazrat yusuf (a.s) and Zulaikha are self made stories of jews. Nothing as such from Islamic perspective.

p.s. Btw, after reading this thread, would you like to consider making some ammendments in your signature. :)

@Topic. I agree with fat spartan

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

Yes in the Muslim World I guess the following personalities are not only revered for thier Religious signifcance but also for thier intense natural beauty...

Hazrat Asia the Egyptian Princess who rescued Hazrat Musa (Moses) from the wicker basket in the Nile...

Hazrat Hajira the Mother of Ismail who ran between Safa and Marwa in search of water and discoverd the spring of ZamZam.

Hazrat Maryam (Mary Mother of Jesus) who for obvious reasons was not only a special Religious figure for her Virgin Birth but was also widely held to be among the most Beautifull women.

Hazrat Aminah Mother of Nabi Pak Muhammad Salalaho Alyahi Wassalam. For me she is very important and I curse the house of all responsible for the desecration of her final resting place....

Hazrat Khadija the first Wife of our beloved Nabi Pak Salalho Alyahi Wassalam.

Hazrat Mai Fathima the blessed daughter of Muhammad Salalho Alayhi Wassalam and all the daughters of the Ahle Bayt.

Among non religous figures It is said the Women of Saladin Al Ayubs Household and particularly his Aunt and Sister were of exceptional beauty.

The Turkic Sultanate of Delhi was famed for it's female Monarch desite her short riegn Razia Sultana is supposed to have been a great beauty to...

The Ottomans also have a female Warrior. The personal guard of Sultan Murad the Second's Wife was a slave woman from Anatolia who once killed five attackers in defence of her Lady and was granted freedom from slavery... it appears she chose from thence forth to be the leader of guarda of the Sultans female household. Though her name comes in many forms Gulbehar is the most popular name for this woman and she was known to be very beautifull as well as efficient in fighting.

Then you see the Islamic Wolrd has every kind of Heroic female figure from those who are greater than Helen of Troy to those you could see as counterparts for the likes of Joan of Arc.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

^ JazakAllah khair brother for a beautiful sharing. Btw, even if the title is change from "Islamic History" to the "History of the whole world", even then this list would remian the same.

Re: The most beautiful women in Islamic scripture/history?

Are you sure? I've also heard that she married Yusuf (A.S), though I can't remember the source.
