shocking that nobody has mentioned laxman except for me.
has nobody seen his pull stroke? i've never seen anything as aesthetic by any other batsman.

Someone mentioned David Gower. If I recall (Ehsan Bhai will correct me here) he was in the Kallicharan mould.

He was a good batsman no doubt, but I didn't find him graceful or that exciting to watch.
In fact other Pakistani batsman such as Anwar & Yousaf were more pleasing and exciting to watch then Javed.
My list definetely BIG No to Javed.

Actually there are two bits to my Q. batsmen who are/were easy on the eye and batsmen who were perhaps not very aesthetic but nevertheless had a touch of genius about their batting. Miandad certainly falls in the latter category.
I watched Pak batting in the 80s and early 90s because of him. He always looked calm and assured at the crease. Those soft hands and deft placement. He could milk singles and twos all day long. As long as he was batting at the crease we knew Pakistan were still in the match

To be honest with you, never really enjoyed Javed bat.

I have always found left handed batsmen to be more elegant....so the names of Ganguly, Yuvi, Brian Lara, Hayden, Border, Gilchrist, Clive Lloyd, David Gower come to mind.
