The reference to Umar R.A statement is not very well known. The language is very harsh, looks like someone is too biased. I am afraid to read all as don't know if its authentic or not. I know in sub-continent and in 12ers there are lot of fabricated concepts about these months, but one has to be really careful what we say or quote, hence require verification.
People here with more knowledge, please let me know if you find anything that is not accurate in this article.

The article is authentic & all references are provided below.
The article or the actual booklet is written by shaykh Salih Munajjid. The statment of Umar RadiAllahu anhu is authenticated by shaykh al-Baani.. even if we dont take his statement, we do not have any daleel or prove about fasting in rajab, that has authentic references.
Our problem is that we dont understand Arabic & depend only on the available english material which is very very less.

Thanks. I am also against innovations and rituals that are not proven from Prophet SAW or companions. But the language used in Umar R.A's statement is not very familiar to me. I have not seen such strong statement on a matter like this.
