Not wanting to overshadow my earlier post on druid festivals, I think we should make an effort to recognise the following in the month of September:
SEPTEMBER 2004
1
Beginning of the Ecclesiastical Year - Orthodox Christian
6
Krishna Jayanti ** - Hindu
8
Nativity of Mary - Christian
14
Elevation of the Life Giving Cross - Orthodox Christian
Holy Cross Day - Christian
16-17
Rosh Hashanah * - Jewish
18
Ganesh Chaturthi ** - Hindu
21
Fall Equinox - Wicca
25
Yom Kippur * - Jewish
29
Michael and All Angels - Christian
Sukkot begins * - Jewish
I suggest some sort of flash banner to try and get all of them in?
May this month bring you and your crystals luck, bless your calves and make sure the wine of life flows freely.
You know I wouldn't be comfortable explaining them just like I wouldn't really want a non-Muslim telling folks about Eid or a Muslim telling us about raakhi or some sikh temple, I'd rather hear it from the horses mouth. I'd much rather GS religious minority step up and explain a little about each.
Besides they’re all harmless fun is the banner a go then? Scratch the one I'm asking for the naked druids/wiccans and do this as a flash.
Here are some more important September Holidays that you either intentionally missed, or just overlooked, Thap:
Sep 1. Labor Day
Sep 7. Grandparent’s Day (you can squeeze your Grandma between Krishna and Mary; only if you have time and are not too busy in meetings).
Sep 9. Teddy Bear Day – you should have no scheduling conflict for this one.
Sep 11. How can you miss this, your favorite holiday to celebrate. If there are any meetings, cancel them all.
Sep 14. This is our Flag Day – only observed by us Americans. You will be busy with your Elevation Holiday.
Sep 21. The birth of Ice Cream Cone Day. Happy sucking to you all. It coincides with Equinox day. Oh well. Make time for both, only if you don’t have too many meetings on that day.
Sep 22. Elephant Appreciation Day. No conflict with meetings, so celebrate it with full attention.
Sep 23. Good Neighbor Day (also first day of Fall). Send flowers to your Indian friends.
No no madhanee I was having an interfaith moment, not missing out on grandpa day! But now that you mention it my wife would think The birth of Ice Cream Cone Day was a religious event.
