The month of blessings, but where is the peace?

Salam Alaikum everyone,

You may call this venting, you may call this preaching (though i assure you, it is not for I stand incapable of preaching to anyone). But what it is, is that I see more and more of our brothers and sisters in Islam misdirecting their energies to things which benefit none. Whether it’s rivalry, bickering, or the same old petty arguments that never seem to end.

One hopes that when the holy month of Ramadan starts, we all better ourselves and re-unite in the spirit of Islam. No sects, no hard feelings, no hurtful remarks that may earn you someone else’s sins and result in them getting your deeds on the day of Judgement. But, at least I do not see such vigor in our ummah.

We continue to treat each other and this month, as if it was just another month with slightly different diet, but that is when it all ends. That is extremely sad to say the least.

Perhaps all is not that bad, and I am over-magnifying things. But brothers and sisters! Even the smallest of things can come back to haunt us and can greatly reduce the barakah of this blessed month.

Let us do our small part in forgiving, forgetting, loving, and working on what we find common among each other in the hope that it may re-unite us all as one community, as one blessed ummah of the greatest man that lived; Muhammad (s.a.w.). Let us dig deeper into what it really means to be a muslim, and I swear to you whomever of us is successful in truly understanding what it means to be a muslim will no longer find any justification for having even the slightest of ego, for we are all insignificant creations of that One Magnificent creator, the Almighty.

I pray and hope that we all work righteous deeds, and work to strengthen ourselves as an ummah. Leave no room for animosity. And last but not least, please forgive me If I have overstepped and said anything unpleasant. Let us all shed our egos and hasten forgive each other for the sake of Allah (swt) and hasten to love and care for each other for the love of Allah (swt).

JazakAllah khair for reading, and may Allah’s blessings multiply many folds in this blessed month of Ramadan. Keep me in your prayers, and lets all pray for the well-being of our ummah which as Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) prophesized is much like scum on the ocean, which is great is number but too weak a force.
