the mil saga continues

I don't know....my mil does love blackmailing her son. MA ki budwa nahi layna....is one of her favorite lines...I have my own mom so I do recognize that moms are older and can be difficult but this type of behavior is odd...what does she need the money for?

When an person is behaving wrong islamically; and does not admit to it; then you need to speak up and make stand; regardless of who they are.

Next time she brings this up; you need to tell her clearly; that in islam this is wrong; and that she still owes you the gold and money back as she had promised. Doesnt matter how big or small it was; the fact is it belonged to you; and she has to return it( even if u know she cant)!. Whenever she starts her drama; just keep calmly reminding her of this; and ignore the rest!

Re: the mil saga continues

the most recent update is she came to all sad and teary and told me that bil has told her to sell all her jewellery which she has put on interest. the money which she gets + the money he sends will get back my jewellery. he said he is sorry but he wont save her jewels now. :(
her friends and everybody thinks she did wrong.. so no frnds from now. no financial help from relatives also..

i felt very bad coz she hardly has anything left firstly.. now nothing will be left!
there is one pair of her jhumkas which is really pretty and i ve never seen such beautiful jhumkas ever. i asked her to save atleast that. to which she said its not possible. she ll need 50000 for that.

i said shall i ask my hubby to sell one of my set and save that jhumkas coz that s her fav. to which she didnt reply..

what do you guys think should i? or shouldnt i?

will it look like i m trying to show that i m so big hearted and all that... or best i dont say anything!??
plz advice

I wont advice u to save her jhumkas and sale your own set! Dont repeat the history. U already had managed to give so much of your own stuff. Even if im against any rivalry or more problems but i would say a big no!

Re: the mil saga continues

you are very kind to offer to save the jhumkas.......but honestly I don't think that you should.
the lesson your MIL needs to learn will be a tough one for all involved.
dil pay pathar rakh kar you will have to tolerate this.
consider it tough love
if you are very concerned about how lovely those ear rings are then take a photo and in the future when there is surplus money perhaps you might have them made for her again......
