I have seen the parody of the original show and the guy but not the original itself. Did enjoy it. And my brother told me something similar about the guy.

I love that guy. he has a wicked sense of humour. his questions generally always have multiple meanings. I remember he asked a hilarous question to some Lollywood auntie (don't know the name) with a completely straight face. then the auntie and him looked at each other for a minute and then the aunite burst out laughing followed by the host. now, that was funny.

yes i met him once when he came to islamabad nd he is paindoo like me :p ...speaks punjabi most of the time...but let me say that whatever his style is , he handles his programme reasonably well...he asks very straight forward questions blatantly nd without hesitation...i loved the episode in which he spent a day with sheikh rashid nd when he asked sheikh sahab about his favorite actress nd the response of sheikh sahab was even better , he named Rekha as his fav. actress with a bigh , shy kind of smile on his face...nywayz sheikh sahab has n interesting personality..

lol yes he's certainly "different" and i doubt a similar personality would last five minutes in America, not good looking, not funny, not over the top, awkward delivery...but somehow it all works on this show. part of the fun of this show is the strange questions he asks, you never know what's coming.
like he asked shoaib akhtar why he didn't grow a beard and asked inzamam if his cricket worsened because he became more religious! classic!!
