emmmm:konfused: I dont rememeber saying I hate pigs…finding pigs cute now tht is interesting:hmmm: mayb we should lov and worship pigs the way the indians do their animal gods. So much so, that we send out a message tht we dont eat pigs out of lov and not becoz they are seen as dirty animals who eat garbage all day long…:halo:
What cows and goats have to do with it I really dont know…but I am from Kashmir, greenery and farms every where u go, So emm yeah I guess I have been to many farms, an I happen to live in the Uk not a dessert island…
At primary school, if the teacher mentioned a pig (example, whilst reading a story) the only other pakistani girl in the class and I would get shocked and speechless because the name-that-must-not-be-mentioned was SPOKEN ALOUD!!! The teacher had SINNED.
How shocking, when we didn't even know WHY this animal should not be seen / mentioned etc. At that time we didn't think for ourselves, but learnt from our parents that this was a most disgusting and unmentionable animal.
Now I think that this was yet another small way in which our confidence took a knock in the pig wide world (excuse the pun!), because it's almost as if our parents were scared of us encountering a pig in a story book or a toy box, which meant in turn, that WE were scared of encountering this forbidden entity in our daily school life. I mean, how on earth should one react when confronted by a picture of a pig in the book, close our eyes???
Isn't it enough to say what we don't eat them, we don't touch them (the real live ones!)? If there is a problem, just don't buy pig toys for the home.
Last thing, if a parent is really disliking the idea that their child thinks pigs r cute, take the kids to a farm to see a REAL LIFE huge ugly fat pig with snot dripping out of their snouts, trust me, it ain't cute!
Nothing created by Allah is awful. In my opinion. I mean, spiders absolutely freak me out but my boys love them so I try to keep myself in control when they proudly show me one...and heck, they eat mosquitos. Ticks..man I dont know what He was thinking when he created these...but who am I to question. Anything that lives was created by God and deserves to be at the very least respected as a creature of Him yeah?
[note] Ladies and gentlemen, let’s please stick to the topic. Thank you kindly. And if the thread starter feels she’s received enough information she can let us know. We just don’t want to get into unnecessary battles here, do we now [/note]
jeez man, why are people around here changing an twisting my words…if u find pigs cute good for u…
As far as Allah’s creations are concerned, how many bad people where created by Allah? Hitler, Osama bin laden, The Devil, the list goes on. Does tht mean we should lov them too, just becoz they where created by Allah?
where the word “hate” appeared from I dont know, Our Prophet (SWT) disliked pigs, so why such a big deal? honestly people :halo:
does anyone in Pak even know what a pig looks like?
I know as kids, if we had a glass or something with a pig on it, we would go and return it for another item. Back when i was 7-8, Nutella came in these glasses so they could be reused. And each glass had a different image on it… the one we got had a small pig in the middle of a farm, so we had to go return it and get another one..
growing up… that idea faded away. My parents didnt mind if we said pig, or something had a pig on it.
A year ago, my MIL sent my daughter hairties from pakistan… one day i decided to use them and realised they had pigs on them… now i was in a bit of a dilemma about whether to use them… they broke before i could use them :halo:
question, do pakistanis know they are selling items with pigs on them? where does all their Pigphobia go at that time?
^lol - njgal - I needed that to get my head cleared of the pigs...
this topic initially did not start out so religious, but then it did take over somehow... I mean we cannot avoid it... but to carry on with it was just getting to me... sorry:)
honestly, guys! pigs are just animals like cats, dogs, horses, sheep, cows, etc- they’re not the devil in disguise. i believe what the Quran says is don’t eat them, because they’re unhealthy due to what they eat themselves, but there’s nothing in there about hating them, avoiding them, teaching your kids they’re “bad”, etc…
the bottom line is: giving your child a piggy bank does not a sinner make, nor will it morally corrupt them if they wear a t-shirt with Piglet from Winnie the Pooh on it. have more confidence in your child-rearing than that!
there are many other, bigger lessons that you could be teaching your children, that count for more and are worth more time, effort and thought, than teaching them about a freakin’ farm animal!
I have a 26 month old daughter and I have teach her animals name , and she knows pigs but she says with it CHECHEE ANIMAL all the time. And its not only because its Haram in our religion but also anyone knows why its haram in our religion b/c it is in real very nasty, it eats its on faeces
