The Lota thread

This thread is dedicated to people living in western countries, but anyone can participate.

What do you use as Lota in your bathroom?

  1. A real genuine desi Lota
  2. A pitcher (jug, for your jahil desis)
  3. Plant watering pots
  4. Empty plastic tub of yogurt.
  5. Muslim shower
  6. Ooh I am too French to touch my butt. We have bidet system installed.
  7. What lota? I only use toilet papers.
  8. None of the above (aka, I use spray bottles; banana leaves; hair dryer; etc)

Oh I wish someone could make it a poll. Pretty please.

Re: The Lota thread

ok, i’ll bite…

currently 1 & 3…considering installing #5 in the bathrooms in our new house

Re: The Lota thread

What is a Muslim shower?!

we have pretty little bowls

in SL we have Bidet systems :cb:

Re: The Lota thread

Oh would someone really keep #4 at home…???
I would understand of it is out of necessity, but on a day to day basis,it just sounds messy…

Oh and we are proud owners and users of #3 at home…

Re: The Lota thread

Restored attachments:

#5

Why is it something rare in the west? :konfused:

Re: The Lota thread

@Khatti - thank you!

aaahhh..ok…yes we have those too in SL…don’t know why we have both :smack:

Re: The Lota thread

^ proto, they’re not rare, really. plenty of desis have them in their bathrooms now…you can find them at any major home improvement/hardware store and have them put in…it’s just that they’re not standard here or automatically given in homes.

I think because of plumbing standards, you don’t always find right adapters to make a Muslim shower fit into your existing plumbing

Re: The Lota thread

We have #3 (small size water cans) in all 3 bathrooms. I hate the ginormous ones from walmart. (how much water can butt washing need).

I would love to have automatic bidet system installed as we do in the mosque. One had settings for temparature, water flow settings and pressure and angle of water. It’s like spa for your booty.

Although considering that most of the Sri Lankans have such puny posterior, having both system installed seems like wastage of water.

Ok ok joking

Re: The Lota thread

It is not so rare in a muslim household. It is rare to see it in a non muslim household. How many times have I been questioned about why we have watering can in bathrooms. Some things that they just don’t understand.

Re: The Lota thread

I came to Europe just a week ago and Im using a plastic bottle so far lol

What, so all of a sudden you guys have become too sophisticated to eat spicy nihari or haleem st your house

Re: The Lota thread

Re: The Lota thread

Aaliyah, you know that I am the most politically incorrect person on GS. As much as I don’t like that Russell Peter guy, I am becoming one :frowning:

Re: The Lota thread

How could you not like Russel Peters?

The Lota thread

Somebody gonna get a hurt, real baaad :asa:

He is too behooda for me. I can’t stand vulgarity in stand up comedy.

Ok question for you bidet people. Are not you afraid that if you don’t line yourself on top of that water jet properly, it could miss and hit your face instead. Ewwwwwwww
