The legacy of Dr. King

While we live in the era where a narcissist becomes the President of world’s most powerful country and the racism, fascism flourish all around, Its very important that we revisit the lives and outstanding struggle of people who worked day n night for the equal rights of mankind regardless of their color, race, ethnic background or whatever.

Lets talk about Dr. Martin Luther King, whose day is commemorate today in US.

I’m not sure if today’s kids all around the world are taught about the lives of such iconic civil rights leaders, but if not, its certainly the biggest mistake we are making. The result we can see in the form of chaos and inequality all around.

Here is the brief timeline of Dr. King’s life:

Martin Luther King Jr. was born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. King, a Baptist minister and civil-rights activist, had a seismic impact on race relations in the United States, beginning in the mid-1950s. Among his many efforts, King headed the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Through his activism and inspirational speeches he played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African-American citizens in the United States, as well as the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, among several other honors. He was assassinated in April 1968, and continues to be remembered as one of the most influential and inspirational African-American leaders in history.

Thats what I wanted to say. Today’s young generation must be taught King’s life, struggle in the white supremacists era and the persistent behavior. World will be a better place

we all are one, only egos, beliefs and fears separate us.
