If you’re having an argument or debate with someone do you feel the need to have the last word or do you walk away? Do you think the desire to have the last word is gender-specific or personality-driven?

Personality driven. I've seen people have the last word, no matter how banal or assanine it may be.

When i was younger, i'd be one of those people...you know....wanting to have the last word.
Now i just walk away.

I personally believe the need to say the last word is driven by ego.

I have the last word only if I care about the person I am talking to...I know it sounds weird.
If the person is worth the argument then I try to prove my point, if not I dont,

It is most certainly personality driven.
I don't, not usually. Only if we're talking about a few of the subjects that I am passionate about. Even then, I am able to end the conversation with explaining why we're disagreeing, as in; how we're lookign at the situation differently, thus different perspectives. Or, just agree to disagree.
Lately, I have been feeling petty. And it is undoubtedly some insecurity that's causing me to do it. I have been feeling very anxious lately. I will have it looked after.

Its depends on the situation for me. Normally I don't give last words. It just happens when the conversation is done no matter who initiated it. If the person is not close or I see that its going no where, then it better to pause and walk away.

it depends on the argument. whatever seems logical, having the last word just for the sake of it is kinda stupid.

I normally agree on the fact that we disagree and walk away/move on.
