Satan never rests to make you do evil … but if ever one of you fights him well, be careful to catch his last trick. He will make you feel proud of your goodness or at least he will try. If ever a person needs to humble themselves and purify their intents for doing good … not for the sake of looking good in the eyes of others but for being good for the sake of Allah (SWT) … then let him fall in the eyes of man and see how he copes.
The pious are most sublime and conscious of God when they are alone …

A shaykh battled with this was given the practice to sit in public with an open wine bottle … people would look on and second guess him … One said “astaghfirullah don’t you know this is haram?” and the man responded saying “By Allah I have not touched it, can you accuse me if you have not seen me drink from it?”
Beware of his last trick … ensure your most holiest moments are in private
