I heard so much about it.. that its really good.. i m lookin forward to it..
Im going to watch it one more time...
Mr.Spock…forget Tom Cruise…I wanna see whats behind that mask of yours…
The movie looks splendid BTW…:k:
cant wait to watch it
Finally, I watched it.
It was one of those movies that makes you tense up with excitment and anticipation. The directing was spectacular. Costume design was quite awsome as well. The fight sequences were unreal. It must have taken them forever to choregraph. I don't know if this is going to be an Oscar movie for Tom Cruise. He has acted so well in this project but then you have Tim Robbins and Sean Pean in Mystic River, two Oscar candidates, IMO.
Even though the film was decent and for to my knowledge, historically accurate about the beginning of the Western world industializing Japan, the plot has been done before. I hope you all know that this is like a spin off of "Dances With Wolves" only instead of the Sioux Tribe, it's the Japanese.
I give 9 out of 10 to the film.
I have three exams next week,I should be studying but I took time out to go and see this movie and it was well worth it!
Tom cruise was brilliant,if u think he can’t play a serious role, just watch this movie to see how wrong u are. :k:
Awesome movie....Great direction, and Tom Cruise was just spectacular and so were all the Japanese actors.
Tom Cruise ki kya baat hay!
He iz one of my Favorite :kaboom: HERO
I watched a camera print tonight, thats the best available in Pakistan ![]()
umm, well its surely an epic IMO. The direction was superb, Japanese culture and scenic details were top notch.
The so-called heroine of the movie was simply stunning and beautiful  Her Romance with Tom Cruise was kept simple and pure and that IMO was much more effective than nasty stuff forced in the movies these days.
Battle scenes were perfect and capped by a memorable scene where Japanese bitallion honoured the samurai after the battle :k:
Tom Cruise, though lacking a bit of kick in the end, was at his best throughout, i expect atleast a nomination for him if not the award.
but That Japanese Guy named Kotsimotu in the movie overshadowed him in every scene where two ere together, his screen presence was overwhelming and acting was simply brilliant.
Definitely a DVD collection for me when it comes out, i rate it just below the epics like Brave-Heart and Gladiator.
Although my long await
has been "LOTR: Return of the King,"
"The Last Samurai" was a 10/10! If
this movie doesn't earn itself an Oscar
as well as Tom Cruise, I don't know what will!
I saw the movie just yesterday. I would give it 8/10. Tom was brilliant. And the japanese actor was good too.
The movie is well directed, and the cinematography is excellent. I loved the first half. But somehow the second half wasn't all what I expected. But overall the movie is good. Very informative too.. I learnt what ears are known in japanese.. mie mie :-p
I saw it yesterday. I heard a few sniffles during the movie. It was a tear-jerker. I thought it was great, and I agree with saby in that Ken Watanabe's screen presence over-shadowed Cruise's.
It lacked richer dialogue, but overall, I'd highly recommend it.
yes Munni, i have never seen such a strong screen presence from non-hollywood person against a super star. He was awesome :k:
i mw aiting for a dvd print but i know it wont be out atleast till 3-4 months ![]()
I saw it yesterday and it was OK.
Nothing spectacular in the action scenes, though very good acting by Tommy, though not Oscar worthy.
I would give it 7/10.
Watched it, loved it!
It was an honour to watch this movie bows :D
Two head chops up!
