Either of them can be interpreted as the last one. The one born in 1902, can be the last one if we are talking about who was the last one to survive. The one born in 1978 can also be viewed as the last, since no more will come after him.

The answer depends on the context we are looking at. If we are looking at the paradox from the lenses of life and death then the one who died last is the last one. If are looking at it from a point of view of an appointed one then we have a different situation on our hands. Remember Allah knows Best.
