sad but an interesting read
Re: The last letter…
Any letter written to family by anyone in a battle zone is considered an open letter, and is always read by the intelligence, censored if needed, or taken out of the equation, if it reveals any logistic or intelligence information.
It is almost absurd to believe that her husband wrote a letter with such intimate detail of his commando operation, clinical logistical information, and, gave it to superiors, to be posted to his wife along with intimation of his death. To think that such a letter would not be censored is unfathomable.
It is more likely that he was captured in IOK, thoroughly interrogated, and this letter was crafted by Indian intelligence based on information gleaned from him, embellished with propaganda, smuggled into Pakistan, and mailed to his wife…sort of a propaganda war. The criticism he shows for the plans is almost as if it was written by a script writer.

very valid points indeed.
Re: The last letter.......
This is normal sad story
Everything in the letter is just common .
A captain is very junior officer and always very young so they are always told very little .
This foolish war-affair (like all other wars) was conducted by Ayoub to gain some popularity after 1965 election which he won by his tactics but facing public anger

Declassified CIA documents in the Lyndon B. Johnson Archive in Austin that point to the role of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto – at that time in 1965, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan – and at whose behest Operation Gibraltar was undertaken. It was Bhutto who persuaded Field Marshal Ayub Khan and the Pakistani generals to capture Indian Kashmir. Operation Gibraltar was the Pakistan army’s Bay of Pigs.

business plans ![]()
…As she began singing, chatter on her left failed to subside. At first she ignored it. But as the chatter continued, she stopped and looked. There was ZulfIqar Ali Bhutto, talking away with Air Marshall Nur Khan*. [Woh hawai jahazoon wala] *She called out: Oi Bhutto. Engrossed in his conversation, he did not hear her at first, or pretended not to. The second time she spoke out loud, Oi Bhutto! This time he took note and turned toward her. She proceeded: don’t you see I am singing here and you are going on and on with your chatter. *[Daykhtey nahein ho main yehan ga rahi haun and tum batain kartey jate ho] *Bhutto, embarrassed and angry, turned red in the face but bit his tongue. Yahya, who had had quite a few by now, didn’t quite follow the commotion, and asked what the matter was. She told him, here I am singing and there he is talking on and on. Yahya quickly joined his hands in a gesture of apology and said sheepishly: But it wasn’t me. *[Main to naheen bol raha tha] *As soon as she finished the song, Bhutto signaled to Nusrat Bhutto, sitting on the other side, and they walked out of the ceremony. Here Nur Jehan could not help adding: What a handsome fellow he was; looked great in that dark suit of his. *[Kia khobsaorat aadmi tha; gehray suit main kitna saj raha tha]…
After becoming the Prime Minister, he had her invited to his hotel suite after a function in the lobby. Once alone with her, he made a rather crude pass at her. She rebuffed him, even if politely. Not one to take no for an answer, he flew into a rage. All red in the face he yelled out: Don’t you know who you are talking to; the name is Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and I am the Prime Minister of the country. *[Tum janti naheen kis say bat kar rahi ho. Mera naam Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto hai and main is mulk ka vazir-e-azam hun] *Never lost for words, she retorted: I know your name and I also know who you are today; but tomorrow you may not be the Prime Minister. I am Nur Jehan; I was Nur Jehan yesterday and will be Nur Jehan tomorrow. *[Han main naam bhi janti hun and yeh bhi ke tum aaj kaon ho. Magar shaid kul vazir-e-azam na raho. Mera nam Nur Jehan hai; main kul bhi Nur Jehan thi and kul bhi Nur Jehan rahun gi] *Then she walked out of the suite. The very next day the income tax department slapped six tax evasion cases against her. To forget or to forgive were after all never Bhutto’s strong suits…

Are you going to revise the history?
Yahya was the mentor of Bhutto. Bhutto was first a shagird of Yahya and later Ayub.
I suggest you better not try to deny facts. Reading a history book will help immensely.

Today I learned that Stanley Wolpert was a Juma'ati. Thank you.
It is quite clear that Bhutto was very close friends with both Yahya and Ayub. Insaan apni bakwaas se nahee, apnay aa'maal se pahchana jata hai. Munafiq bhutto did everything opposite to what he said.
He was intrumental and hands in glove with Military leadership during fall of dhaka. Rest of Pakistan he destroyed with selective nationalization.
Thank you. But I would rather see what he did and not what he said in Jalsa Jaloos.
Re: The last letter…
you mean doosra. According to your retard logic Ayub Khan was the first one. But then Yahyah Khan was roohani baap of all west pakis including yourself. I still remember when he kicked out Ayub Khan on a gun point and addressed on radio, people like you over joyed and clapped his welcoming on 25 March 1969. How I can forget that, a 8th grade student then in Karachi. He was one of the top ‘sanjeela jawan’ of Noor Jehan.

Again a jamaati version. He parted his friendship with Ayub in 1967 when he founded PPP. They became staunch opponent you were either not born then or you are lying. Yes he made a big blunder when he sided with Yahya Khan for not handing over power to Bengali. Had Bengali were given power people like you would have been in minority and Pakistan would have been blessed with happiness and prosperity.
His second blunder was bringing back 95000 pows mostly involved in genocide, rape, robbing banks, destroy infrastructures. They should have been court marshalled and punished according to their crimes.
His third blunder was not disbanding the corrupt drunkard defeated army and started a fresh army representing all the population of Pakistan not just Punjab.

Thank you.
Re: The last letter.......
Thank you.
My gut feelings immediately told me that you would cut and paste few words to suit to your limited thinking. Other facts are too heavy for you to digest and respond. You should be thankful to ZAB that he gave you full powers over other provinces after debacle of East Pakistan. Otherwise you would have been subservient to Bengali masters rather than ruling Pakistan due to majority population reason.
Re: The last letter…
Thing might be better, if Pakistan remain its border.
