Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
I used to have it below my hips...almost to the knees... everyone loved it...but I got tired of my heavy hair bun/long braid & caring for it got hectic in University..so I just cut it thankfully. Now it is past my waist...so a lil more manageable and I can style it better.
My tips....
Coconut & Mustard oil are great for your hair. Sometimes when I have time, I massage oil onto the scalp, keep it in for a while, then rinse. It keeps it nice & conditioned, massage gets the blood flowing to your head....plus oil helps with dandruff also.
Never brush wet hair...if you must....comb with wide tooth-comb, starting at the bottom so your don't rip out the roots.....and don't overbrush dry hair.
Eat lots of protein, or have Biotin in your diet...good for hair & nails.
TRIM!!! when you get split ends
Sometimes I used to mix this crazy thing up....apply to hair for 20 mins..then rinse with lukewarm water & lemon juice.
yogurt, mustard oil, a little mehndi, and egg...... sounds EWW, but hair was very silky afterwards. Just don't wash with crazy hot water...or you'll end up with scrambled eggs in your hair. hehe
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
i had this colleague of mine who had her hair almost upto her knees. since she worked in a lab, her long hair was a workplace hazard so she was asked to either get her hair short or move on to another job outside the lab. she agreed to get hair hair short. she looked cute in her long hai...*uskii zulfoN ke aseer hazaaroN! *:D

Whenever I see aunties...they get all emotional..... YOU CUT YOUR HAIR!!!! HAW HAI..... tisk tisk... that was your beauty!
What am I...bald & ugly now??? lolz..... yeah crazy long hair was nice...but it was so thick & heavy, gave me headaches after a while. I'm happy with where it is now....still looks wonderful, but ahhh so much easier to manage.
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
Wet hair with warm water. Hot water can strip ur hair of protective oils.
Actually, I wanna get protein pack at the salon to protect my hair, however , it's not fit in my budget.:(

MonkeyMirch, lord i thought my hair was a major pain to take care of but gosh having it all the way down to my hips…how in the world did you manage that.![]()
thanks for the recipe, i do oil it with argan oil and olive oil almost every week but it always ends up looking kind of lifeless. I think it’s b/c it’s very wavy/curly
I always hope for what this lady’s long hair looks like: looks so shiny and healthy, what in the world do she do to get it to look like that

Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
^ lovely!!!!!!!!!
It was deff hard work... hence why I cut it
I think they add shine sprays...... there is a good one...Olive oil hair polisher...you just spray it on (helps with holding hair down as well)...instant shine!!! and its pretty cheap too
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
I keep my hair in a braid pretty much all the time when Im home and even when i go to bed, It really helps with hair breakage! Another "tip" to help with hear breakage would be to not blow dry/brush/comb your hair after you come out of the shower until its about eighty percent dry....wet hair has a tendency to break easily. Other than that Im a REGULAR mustard oil user! I leave it in my hair for half an hour and i do this about three to four times a week. Take hair supplements as well.
Your hair sounds like it needs deep conditioning.
You have to allow your hair to be what it is too. Meaning...try not to straighten it if its curly. Try not to curl it if its stick straight.
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
A weekly hair mask would work wonders^^
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
Invest in Aussie luscious long shampoo and conditioner, they also have a treatment called '1 minute miracle' which is amazing. I use all 3 once every 2 weeks and my hair has never looked better.
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
Eat cod liver oil!
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
apply plain mayo to your hair for 20min and wrap your hair with plastic or a shower cap.. excellent conditioner
or
take 1/2 avocado mashed ,2 tbsp olive oil and 2tbsp coconut oil massage on your scalp .. again wrap your hair and leave it for 20min ... do it regularly/once in a month for a atleast 4-6 months you'll notice an amazing result
plus do not forget to trim your hair atleast once in a month
golden tip: take omega 3 tablets, good for hair ... biotin is also good for hair

Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
^ i guess you are not having a proper diet... eat eggs, cheese milk, fish vegtables etc
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
^i agree, a proper diet is a must!
I have hair to about waist length (wavy), and i used to have alot of it about 2-3 years ago but since those 2-3 years (highschool) ive lost like half of it. I had iron deficiency and also diet wasnt very good, was 2 kg underweight too and on top of that all the stress with studies so yeaaa.. hair was not in a very good condition at all!
So i started taking iron and vitamin supplements and got my weight back to normal and hair is slowly growing back (I think) at least length wise it is...oh and i alway air dry my hair.
Also i try to oil it once a week at least with almond oil.
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
Nisha, I'm pretty sure that is fake hair extensions...
Re: The Ladies with Long Hair.........
^^do you really think so? i've seen women with great hair just like that and with a full head of it.
-i'm even using a restoration mask that i leave in my hair while in the shower for 10 mins and then rinse off
-i'm eating well balanced healthy diet full of raw vegetables including iron rich raw spinach, protein(fish chicken, eggs), fruits, i'm at a very healthy weight which is 5 pounds below my ideal weight for my height, workout every chance i get...........although i'm at a very stressful time in my life where i've been in an actual emotional low for the past couple yrs that's the only thing, feeling 10 times better now that certain issues are settled in my mind
-im even taking those hair, skin, nail vitamins full of biotin, vitamin a, c, e and every thing that's good for all three, skin and nails look fine, i even apply crushed vitamin c and vitamin e directly to my scalp..........see how much work long hair can be
i've tried everything in terms of helpful tips all the previous hair threads had in them and even after searching the web
KP, i will try that shampoo, conditioner duo you mentioned after i finish the treseme shampoo i bought in this big bottle which is supposed to be packed with loads of hydrolyzed silk protein, keratin.....
notanothergirl, i never blow dry my hair, i've always air dried and rarely use curling irons or straighteners. i do always braid my hair before i go to sleep
i'll definitely try the recipes that apple blossom and monkeymirch wrote up though, i'm hoping it works well for me wavy, lifeless hair thanks y'all
