Re: THE KILLERS
It seemed like a tongue-in-cheek comment. Its difficult to have a sense of humor at this time, but at least try, guys!
I talked to my brother in Pakistan last night, and it seemed like people over there are really in mourning. The whole thing is so sad that in fact, Bob's death has put things in perspective for a lot of people, and now the loss to Ireland doesn't look like that big a deal, compared to matters of life and death. And by the way, don't get me started on the rumors going on the streets in Pakistan about how the match was fixed and Woolmer only found out about it after the game. Makes you want to scream!
Re: THE KILLERS
Agree with u … but…then u said
*^^huh… yup thats right always blame others cuz we pakistanis are perfect Human beings in every department… Right my friend???

Re: THE KILLERS
Pakistanis as a nation have very little class left in them, thanks to our deterioriating educational (cultural, not likhai parhai) standards. I am sure they'll find plenty of two bit pedestrians to make comments on national tv that will cause huge embarrassment to all of us. Already some guppies have been posting heartless insensitive comments on his death here. The man gave his life to Pakistan cricket, and like SalmanNY said, never said anything bad about Pakistan or Pakistan team even when we made him go through crises he didn't deserve (OVal) and destroyed his reputation as a coach. The least we can do now is act sensitively at such a sad time and avoid speculating about suicides and any such thing.
You are 110% correct
Re: THE KILLERS
muali, i will explain what I said and answer your query as well, but later. This is not the right time. I am shocked and sad at Woolmer’s death, he was a good coach and a great man, but that does not mean that he could do no wrong. This is not the time.
Re: THE KILLERS
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t he the same Imran who was blaming Woolmer for our failure just before he died and asking for his sack. Now he is making a u turn. Typical of Khan Sahib. The guy should take a stand and stick to it.
Re: THE KILLERS
And i think he is also very biased towards Younis Khan; i mean the guy who sucks and Imran Khan is like no no need to kick him out of the team - maybe because he is khan/phathan.

Ehsan bhai, yes Imran has criticised Woolmer in the past but his criticism was mainly centered on Woolmer's inability to groom atleast two good openers but he has always maintained that the captain is solely responsible for a team's good/poor results and that he rather than the coach should get all the plaudits if the team wins. Likewise the captain should take all the flak when things go wrong. That's my reading of the whole thing but I could be wrong :p

No not in the past I am talkign about just after Pakistan was kicked out of the world cup and before woolmers death. He made statements blaming him and now a U turn. But than he has done that a lot of the time before. I don't share the enthusiasm of many people here that as soon as Imran will walk into the PCB office every thing will be honky dory. Afraid not.
Re: THE KILLERS
This was after Woolmer’s death..
It’s always wise to hear it from Horse’s mouth…
sunni sunaai baatoN par yaqeen naheeN kartaY :)![]()
PS: and yes, I believe that Imran is one better option for our cricket at the moment…
Re: THE KILLERS
I will have to dig that up and I am sure I read here on gS as well.
AQ jee you are entitled to believe about Imran. I have seen him operate, a great captain. Lets just leave it at that. There are too many posters here who treat him something like a god and will rip me to pieces if I criticised him. :)
Re: THE KILLERS
^
In short, in that video, he did blame Coach for the failure but he also blamed Captain and the selectors as well.. His only complain with the coach was that we could not find a opening pair... but then he blamed selectors for that too..
and all that, after the incident.. so yes.. he did not change his mind.... in context to what you and GA were discussing...

You said in the video he did blame the coach for the failure. This is what he said in what was posted in GA's post:
“The performance of the Pakistan team is a sheer responsibility of the captain and no one but Inzamam is responsible for the exit of the team from the World Cup. And the poor performance of the Pakistani team is the only cause of Woolmer’s cardiac arrest,”
See the confusion in his statement.

so that quote is from Imran... who told you that? Imran?? I guess it was GA who told you :p
now listen to it from Imran's own mouth (u can call it from horse's mouth) whether or not he actually did say it? :p
I will rather believe in words that I hear from Imran's own mouth than someone else quoting him :)
Re: THE KILLERS
So are you saying that the link is incorrect and they made it up. Come on AQ I expect better from you.
Re: THE KILLERS

links might be fine but I was just comparing the two ... one is a "QOUTATION" of him and one is HIMSELF saying on that subject...
Having seen such examples myself in pakistani journalism where things are taken out of context, I will rather take side with what the person is saying than any Tom Dick and Harry quoting him...
Re: THE KILLERS
I saw that man saying it, first time I felt the same, but I guess that man did not meant in a way our follow guppies are thinking, its only a communication problem, only he would have added poor guy died with shame because of Pak team performance (I believe he meant in that way).......sometime I guess our interpretation could be wrong, we did not hear what all of he said....so people please do not assume about our Nation. I could not sleep last night till late 12:30 even though I went to bed at about 10pm, I felt so sad because of woolmer's death, I think our Nation is very good and very sensitive and loving Nation.
Please be considerate...I love you all
I totally agree with Zafar here. I didn't feel bad either coz you need to understand the level these people are at. The guy didn't mean to anything bad about Bob. Infact he implied that Pakistan's poor showing caused it.
