The Kashmir Tomb

The burial place of Jesus in Kashmir is known to the locals as Rauzabal, meaning the Honored Tomb.It is known as the tomb of Yuz Asaf, which may be of Buddhist derivation (see link) or possibly from Yusu or Yehoshua (Jesus) the Gatherer. Local tradition states that the entombed was a prophet of Ahle-Kitab, or People of the Book, and his name was Isa - the Quranic name for Jesus.

The prophet Yuz Asaf came to Kashmir from the West (Holy Land) in the reign of Raja Gopdatta (c 1st century A.D) according to the ancient official documents held by the current custodian of the tomb.

Some of the most extensive research on the tomb has been conducted by the now retired famous historian and former Head of Archaelogy for State of Kashmir, Professor Fida Hassnain.

The tomb is Jewish, as attested by the direction the grave is lying. Next to the grave is a footprint engraved in stone, an artistic rendition of the wounds of crucifixion.

WOW thats so interesting.....

is it possible for us to go and actually see the tomb?

Very interesting BBC documentary on the topic…

Re: The Kashmir Tomb

yes you can go there, but you cannot go to the grave, I don't know why. They have locked the door.

What a shame that we have evidence Jesus' is burried in Kashmir, but these true Muslims deny this fact! I will go there one day insha'allah and when he stops me from opening the door and to see it myself! I will not hold myself back! I want to know the truth, even if I have to pay with my life for that!

Peace Numb

This personality of Yuz Asaf is very interesting. Do you know of any sources which are independent from the Ahmadiyya regarding this person. I have done some checking and it seems other than Isa (AS), mostly if not wholly proposed by the Ahmadiyya, there are other candidates for Yuz Asaf …

One is that he could be Yuz Asaf - a Sabien traveller, or Josephat according to the Christians. I cannot find any information on the Sabien of the same name, however I found some information on Josephat which is not convincing because he was from Ukraine so what was he doing in Kashmir.

I thought of Jospehus being a possibility who is son of Matthias. Jospehus is commonly know as Luke the one who wrote most of the gospels and attributed them to Paul.

Stigmata and self-flagelation can also result in the hands and feet with marks of the cross. I therefore cannot believe the person in that burial chamber is Isa(AS) based on this argument.

In fact in the gospel Pontius Pilate gave the people the chance to decide which of two people they wanted crucified. Someone called Barabbas or Jesus … they said they wanted Jesus crucified. Barabbas means ‘son of the father’ … and strangely enough his first name was Jesus. Which Jesus was set free? Which crucified?

It could be that both people survived death. One was crucified (put on the cross) the other not. The crucified Jesus was not a prophet but may have become a good man later on. It may be reasonable for this to be that man who went to Kashmir possibly to escape his people. The one who escaped entirely could have been the prophet Isa (AS).

Barabbas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is also possible that both of these people are aspects of the same person. Just like the Mary Magdelene and Mary Mother of Jesus are somewhat two aspects of the same person taken apart. (Incidentally … Magdelene is supposed to be a prostitute, and Islam says that Maryam (AS) was accused of bad conduct because of Jesus (AS)'s birth from this it follows that Christians may have wanted to preserve the image of Mary by making two of them - the same can be the case with Jesus (AS) )

Re: The Kashmir Tomb

Documenty is too good.

Re: The Kashmir Tomb

Peace

I still can't find any information on Yuz Asaf outside his alleged connection with Isa (AS).

Even more so I have also found that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad had suggested two other sites as the burial site of Isa (AS) prior to this one. One in Al-quds and the other in Al-khalil.

Rauzabal............doesn't that mean place where some Hair of a Holy Man is buried?

or is that another place .........Hazrat Bal?

Yes as a "prophet" receiving "divine revelation" mirza had to do some guess work, then he found a "holy" grave in Kashmir and labelled it as Isa(As)' grave.

A question for the mods:

Why are personal attacks not being condemned on this forum? I see attacks in other threads relating to the same issue. I'm not a frequent poster on this form but I do visit GS quite often. I am aware that personal attacks are not to be tolerated by the mods. People posting negative comments should be warned.

Peace slaveof Allah

My question was aimed at the Ahmadi brothers here and it is best to let them answer instead of resorting to ridicule.
